Clearing spaces before results day!!!!
Ok,so i was just wondering(and being scepticle) can i find out what courses will be available via clearing on ucas before results day(16/8/12)?
I know those who aren't holding any offers now can look, but I've got a firm and insurance.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks a lot for the quick response(Original post by Foghorn Leghorn)
I think clearing actually opens on the 1st. Remember that scottish students get their results in the first week in aug, usually the 4th or 5th so clearing will definitely be open then.

Clearing is open now, as in people who currently have no firm or insurance can add Clearing choices. Scottish students get their results August 7th, and the Clearing listings for Scottish universities will be published then.
The people currently in Clearing can look, but it's only by trial and error - phone up the university and see if they have the course available. There are no listings published at the moment, and a lot of universities don't yet know because they need to wait until the A-levels results are in to know whether they have any spaces left and how many.(Original post by Ps3SuperSRG)

The complete Clearing listings will be published on August 16th on UCAS website and in The Telegraph. A smaller listing for Scottish universities will be published on August 7th (just on UCAS), but the places available may change with the A-level results so they are also included on August 16th. Some universities have put up their own listings now, and more will sooner to the time, but largely no one really knows what will be there at the moment. -
Re: Clearing spaces before results day!!!!No, you're not right in saying that.(Original post by charlie9872)
Slightly off topic, but, am I right in saying that if my firm choice was still in UCAS Extra at the deadline they're likely to be in clearing meaning they'll be more lenient on results day? Bricking it at the moment as I think I've missed it. -
Re: Clearing spaces before results day!!!!The clearing list for english unis are published then as well. I know I remember looking at it when i got my scottisgh results.(Original post by TheSownRose)

Re: Clearing spaces before results day!!!!If you've not got an offer then yes, if you have got an offer you need to wait untill your results day to see if you have been put into clearing. However the clearing lists are pubished in newspapers, so there is no reason why you couldn't contact a uni that you want to apply for before results day.(Original post by Ps3SuperSRG)
