    Zoology at UCL/Bristol/Glasgow/??
    Hey!

18 year old currently on a gap year before applying for zoology next year.

Any advice from any seniors who have studied zoology in your uni? I have looked through the course outlines for quite a few uni (UCL, Glasgow, Bristol, Nottingham, Imperial, Bangor, Edinburgh) but I am so lost because I don't know what I'm supposed to be looking out for. What 'defines' a uni as having a good zoology course?

I'm currently biased towards UCL (good reputation for its research and bio-sciences and overall a high ranking uni in UK), but seriously is studying zoology in a big city like London going to help?? Shouldn't we be studying in an environment where we can do fieldwork outdoors, observing animals etc as much as lab work?

And I've read about graduates with a bachelor's degree having no jobs etc. and am aware that people are in this job not for the money haha. Getting a masters may increase your chances, but not too optimistic as well. I know that Glasgow and UCL offer Msci Zoology as a 4 year undergraduate course and am quite tempted to go for it.

Pls leave your advice for anyone interested in pursuing Zoology as a future career! Would really appreciate any help in advance!

Haha yes I'm sure Bristol is a great place to study! Cool! Do you know if she gets to do much fieldwork? Argh now I'm tempted by Exeter because during the 3rd year, students get to go on a field course to Africa! Seems like a very exciting course to participate in !
