Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?
Gymnastics I did it for 13 years and then stopped at 16 y/o I enjoyed it a lot but i had to concentrate on school more. Swimmining/Diving it looks so fun and maybe archery i envision my self as the badass with the bow and arrow.
Oh yeah I tried archery one time when i was about 12/13 and I was badass! I hit the bullseye twiceLast edited by HalleStar; 30-07-2012 at 13:08. -
Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?
I'm planning to take up Fencing at Uni so definitely that.
Also Archery, which I might also take up at Uni.
I've never been any good at team sports but individual sports which are based not on strength and build (like say swimming) but sports based on solely your own, speed, agility, concentration and tactics appeal to me far more and look more fun. -
Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?Over what range? I was watching the Olympians before and they shoot over 50m I think it was(Original post by dinrah04)
Archery, I've had a few goes at it (only taken about 12 shots) and I got the bulls eyes (I'm not sure about the points on an Olympic Scale
) about 10 or 11 of them. I imagine it was beginners luck but it's so boss getting that 10. Feeling like a modern day Robin Hood.

Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?
I begged my dad to let me do gymnastics when I was little, but he always refused. Then when the subject came up recently he said "Well it's far too late now, you should've asked when you were younger!" ¬_¬
I love horses too, so anything equestrian. That's still a possibility I guess but i'd have to put an insane amount of time into it at this stage! -
Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?Some measly range, I don't even know. I always wanted to find some sort of club afterwards but it wasn't exactly feasible at the time. Maybe, I'll look for one in the near future.(Original post by Converse Rocker)

Does anyone know if they have ranges at Universities, or at least societies for it? -
Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?I think a lot will have Archery clubs and ranges. York does that much I know (having just checked to see if I could take it up this year).(Original post by dinrah04)

Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?
Track running, pref. long distance. I loveeee running, its such a feel good exercise.
Or gymnastics, just because I have always wanted to be good at it but never really gotten the chance to get into it. The olympians are so, so amazing - I'd love to be able to do the stuff they do! -
Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?
Is it me or does handball look really really fun? Most suprising event so far
Sent an email to local handball team asking if I can go and train for 1 session
100m final and long distance running
And triple jump (that got me into school athletics
Team, 3 weeks before year 8 finished :L) -
Re: If you could train/play any Olympic sport, which would it be?Yeah archery is fun. I plan on taking it up again at university. The local club to my first choice university is actually where one of the GB olympians used to train, and still might.(Original post by dinrah04)

I did it for a while when I was younger. The targets were only 10m away at that time - The olympics is 70m!
For anyone else interested, find your local club HERE
Not every university will have a dedicated grounds. Maybe you could petition them to start it? If not, find a local range. There are quite a few out there!Last edited by SillyEddy; 30-07-2012 at 14:05.
