Question for Muslims
I was doing some work for a Bangladeshi lady who was born and bred in Sunderland and moved to Bangladesh met her husband and when he came to Britain he thought things were the same as they were over there and he treat her badly so she told him to "pi$$ off". But she's still a Muslim just very moderate and her daughter drinks and smokes and doesn't follow Ramadan or anything. So in short when Muslims come here do they get influenced by our culture?

Re: Question for Muslims
I would say so. This is the way I see it in my family:
Grandparents 1st Generation - Moved to Britain many years ago, religious, strong asian culture, tight nit community obviously since they were foreigners and knew some people!
Parents 2nd Generation - Born in Britain Half religious and a strong british culture AND asain culture but not as strong as 1st generation.
Me 3rd Generation - basically the same as my parents but I wouldnt say I have a strong asian culture, I did go to mosque and have close friends there but I was always more in the company of other cultures and my parents friends were predominantly white (Auntie Sharon, Uncle Stuart) haha.
So in my case yes, definitely but this might not be the case for everyone
my parents were 22-20 when I was born whereas some others parents might have been raised abroad before moving here and therefore I have friends who are 2g and I am 3g.
its 8am sorry haha -
Re: Question for MuslimsHaha cool I'm not being racist but I could just imagine your uncle having an asian name but his middle name is Stuart like shoah "Stuart"achtar.(Original post by UMARTIAN)

Re: Question for Muslims
Must divide between what ordered by the Islamic religion and Traditions and customs of some Country , Some of what People think its from islam and its not :
1-Women should not work.
The fact that she can work what ever she want Only if it is not contrary whith Islam like prostitute or Thief etc.
2-Women should not drive a car.
she can ,The proof is that there are a lot of Muslim countries whith muslim women driving cars .
3-Women must wear veils.
Women must cover their hair only in front of strangers men and she can cover her face or not its not a must thing
we cover our hair and Dress modestly Such as nuns.
what Really is Orderd from islam The basics :
1- believe in one god and he is the only one who created everything and
believe in the Messengers and prophets, who are Muhammad and Jesus and Moses and Abraham and Adam, and Joseph and Yunis and Ismail and Isaac and Jacob and many others, some mentioned in the Holy books ( quraan ,the Torah, the Gospel ) and some did not mentioned , and thay all came with the same Message which is to worship god alone .
2-Praying five times a day.
3-Give part of Your Money to the poor and the needy.
4-Fasting in Ramadan.
5-do the haj one time in your life if you can .
do all that The basics and you are a muslim and will go to heaven and Whoever believes in one god and the Judgment Day and do good work will go to heaven Even if they are not Muslims thay are in the same believe like us .
There are sins if you do it its not going to make go to hill but its The best for you not to do it for example:
to be a Theft its a bad thing for you and others cuz u taking something not yours and if you want god to forgive u u must give Everything to their owners . if you drink wine its bad for your Health and cause problems like car accidents , Rape and murder its make you Lose your mind and a lot of sins if you didnt do it the Benefit will come to u and others , but its did not going to make u go to hill .
so When Muslims choose to do sins its Because of the weakness of their faith and dont know a lot of eslam , or Affected by the society around them and their friends but strong muslem dont be affected by others , u Find people Live in a place Full of things not Islamek and Are still strong muslems.
look we all humen and we all well make sins but what make a someone more good than others when he Stop doing that sin faster and do more good work and Of course, apologize and fix what he done.
so yes you will find muslem drink and etc but thay are not strong muslen and i hope thay will stop doing sin but no one can judge them cuz we all done sin some time we just help Each others to be come good strong muslem.
i hope i didnt Bored u whith my long Answer. -

Re: Question for MuslimsSo?(Original post by Ari Ben Canaan)
There are many Serbians and Turkish who are muslims....
Only Arabs are Muslims. The rest are converts and of dubious piety. -
Re: Question for Muslimswhat makes you say that, the Quran and the prophet came for the whole world. for arabs and non arabs alike .(Original post by El-Sayyid)
This is because non-arabs are not muslims.
And by the way a muslim is not supposed to conclude a non muslim as a kuffar, otherwise he would be considered as a non muslim himself.
so you say that arab which does not follow the quran and sunnah of the prophet SAW , and does completely opposite to what a muslim should do . Is still a muslim?
but a person who is non arab, but follows the quran and sunnah as prescribed by allah. is not a muslim? -
Re: Question for MuslimsAs a descendant of the early followers, it is established quite clearly in the Sahih al-Bukhari that only Arabs cab be considered real Muslims. Those that follow much later are not real followers but corruptions and of dubious piety.(Original post by zubz91)

Of course you are grateful that I freed you from whatever false religion you prayed to before, but you will never be accepted as one of us. You are only my equal in the mosque and haj, in accordance with the Qur'an.
So, you cannot convert to Islam. You have to be born in it. Once a Muslim, always a Muslim. Why else are non-arab Muslims at the bottom of the social hirarchy while Allah in his wisdom has made the Arabs the richest and most prosperous for the last 1400 years?

The Prophet SAW, mentioned in his last sermon (hajjatulwida') :
"All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves."
Alhamdulillah by the almighty grace of Allah i was born and bred in a Muslim family. I would hate to be you, you arrogant Arab.
Allah has blessed you, with some Wealth in order to test your Imaan. and yes i can see how pious the Arabs are nowadays, Saudi Arabia is full of corruption, yes maybe not completely full of corruption, only because they are implementing the Shariah law in the country.
So Brother you can try to explain my religion to me, with your twisted mind.
Jazakallahu khair may Allah give you Hidayah -
Thank you brother for such a thoughtful rebuttal.(Original post by zubz91)

“Whoever does not refrain from false speech and deeds, Allah has no need for him to leave his food and drink.” (Bukhari #1804)
[49:13] O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes, that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of GOD is the most righteous. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant.
Surah Imran:
103"Hold fast to God’s rope all together; do not split into factions...."
104"Be a community that calls for what is good, urges what is right, and forbids what is wrong: those who do this are the successful ones."
105 "Do not be like those who, after they have been given clear revelation, split into factions and fall into disputes: a terrible punishment awaits such people."

Re: Question for Muslims
I think what you mean is that do they lose their cultural identity when they move to this country? The answer to that is yes; it is impossible not to embrace the British culture when you are born and bred there.
On the matter of the woman's daughter, that is because of a non-religious upbringing rather than a non Bangladeshi upbringing. So, a person can be culturally British whilst still maintaining their relgiious beliefs.
my parents were 22-20 when I was born whereas some others parents might have been raised abroad before moving here and therefore I have friends who are 2g and I am 3g.
