    Handmade?
How does everyone feel about handmade clothes and accessories?

There are several market stalls in my town that I love to buy things like this from, but only if they are handmade; I can buy regular, mass produced goods online or from any other shop, right? When I look for something handmade, I want to see something unique that few other people will have - something that stands out from the crowd of mass-produced goods. I'm asking because I'm curious and because I have an online shop that sells handmade jewellery and accessories, so I want to do a little market research

So how do other people feel? Nothing special? Fun to buy? Does the fact that handmade is a little more expensive (accessories) to a great deal more expensive (clothes) put anyone off? General opinions?

    Thanks

I make a lot of my clothes so I'm biased I guess

Personally, I love handmade things. I'd much rather my accessories or clothes be individual than seeing my wardrobe every time I go to town! That said, I do also buy from places like Topshop etc but even then I like to find shops that sell odd pieces rather than just what's in fashion.

I would pay more for a handmade item if it was made well and I liked it but I would never buy something handmade JUST because it was handmade, because if it's made badly then it's not really worth the extra you pay for the 'handmade' label. c:

(I didn't mean to imply that I would buy something just because it's handmade - it just sucks when you assume that it's handmade because it's on a market stall and it's not, or they 'pretend' that it is Sucks.)

That's awesome that you make your own clothes, at least you'll never be stuck for something to wear! I like the standard shops too, but I can't say that I've bought much jewellery from them (what I make). When I worked out that I could make it, it was more like: "Screw that, I'll buy the components or similar on ebay, make it myself and sell the extra ones!" Clothes, I will always have to buy from the normal shops as I am not a dab hand with the sewing machine, not at all!
