I will (hopefully) be moving to uni at the beginning of september, however my student finance payment date is over a week or 2 later than that... so basically i have no money for this time & i was just wondering if anyone in the same position has been successful in contacting sfe and getting it changed or equally if i have no chance at all and will need to borrow some money until it gets paid into my bank? thanks in advance!

I wish that you could but I think they set the dates depending on uni term times. It is annoying when you move in earlier than that. I do not get paid until the end of September but I am moving in next month so luckily I have savings which I can dip into otherwise I would have no money for food. And last year my loan didn't come in until after I had been living there for 2 weeks and after freshers week. I do wish that they would take this into account.

To be fair it's probably better coming in after freshers so people won't blow too much of it on freshers.

it's not necessarily freshers' week that i'm bothered about, it's paying stuff like accommodation which is when it gets to big sums of moeny

I know at my Uni they ask for the accommodation first term payment after the loan has come in, I hope it's similar at other Unis
