Re: Pass plus
Hey, I did the pass plus, it does noticeably reduce your premiums but not straight away, it takes up to a year for you to see any difference. (I got a quote for with&without pass plus just to see and they were cheaper with).
I'd say it's worth doing, plus it teaches you things you won't already have learnt. -

Re: Pass plusWell then it doesn't make any difference, I've been insured for two years, putting that you have done it lowers it though.(Original post by tomrw)
Pass plus only works for your first year insurance lol.
& only with certain companies, my instructor explained this to me and gave me a list of companies that ask if you have done pass plus..Last edited by charlottehattonx; 30-07-2012 at 17:26. -
Re: Pass plusThose companies probably charge higher premiums in the first place!!(Original post by charlottehattonx)

PP for the very newly qualified who may be lacking in confidence is good as it is done with an approved ADI but if the faily confident driver simply wants to improve their driving and get some advice and tips then perhaps the advanced driving route would be better especially if within the first year of passing the basic starter DSA test -
Re: Pass plus
Hey, I just did my pass plus course today.
Six hours, roughly 180 miles and I am fooked.
Driving lessons dont prepare you for that - the experience is invaluable especially learning to drive on motorways. I drove for about 60 miles on the way back without using my brakes!!!! Unbelievable!!!
Forget what people say about how pass plus isn't worth it - they the ones who dont do it!
For me at least, it was the best driving lesson ever + I got a free meal lol -
Re: Pass plusWhen I did mine (a few years ago) it was free in Wales!.(Original post by MancStudent098)
Worth noting that pass plus is only £20 if you're under 26 and live in Wales - I'd say the practice alone is a bargain if you're Welsh. For other Brits it doesn't really seem to stack up financially.
Even with this in terms of saving on your insurance it wasn't worth it (as very little [and still do it seems] ask you if you have PP).
But people forget that not everything is money and so being able to drive on a motorway with an instructor is a good thing that PP provides. Because without this your 1st time on a motorway is like "ok... there are 3 lanes" [as L-drivers aren't allowed to go on m.ways!].
