Olympic Tickets
You can still buy them, LOCOG released a lot more last night due to the empty seats.
I'm currently deciding whether it's worth it to get tickets for the men's football final. £125 each though, which is crazy!

Re: Olympic Tickets
I've looked at every London venue, there doesn't seem to be any for the lwoest price category (which would be the only ones I'd be willing to pay for
). But it is actually an absolute joke that many who have missed out on tickets they'd wanted are watching them on TV, with seats of their preferred price category empty.

Re: Olympic TicketsYeah, it's a disgrace that so many tickets were given to the Corporations and then they don't even bother turning up. It's really only the expensive tickets that are left and most people won't be able to afford them. LOCOG's organisation has been a joke.(Original post by Wawasan)

Re: Olympic TicketsYep. And the thing is, its not just the corporations. They're just trying to blame them for the empty seats, even though there's evidence that other areas which are of slightly less prestige are also empty. So many people have been left dissappointed by this. It feels like I've been cheated out of a ticket for a session I'm currently watching, the amount of empty seats in the category I wanted is really frustrating me. Yet when I've been searching for it online, it has not been available. Fans will never get respite for this utter catasrophe from LOCOG.(Original post by TheInvincibles14)

Re: Olympic Tickets
I was so annoyed that when I originally applied for tickets at midnight the day they were out would be dismissed. Then they tried the first come first serve which you know are the crap tickets.

EDIT - Don't know why I was warned for this post unless people can't understand a joke and what happened to freedom of speech

A few days ago I did see some reasonably priced tickets then when I went to get my card I came back they were gone
Oh well I got tickets to the paralymics but it won't be the same, I kind of feel bad that are don't know any of their names.
At least I'll get the Olympic feel and say to my grandchildren I was there.

Re: Olympic Tickets
I had a look last night and couldn't see any available tickets except those rare ones where the prices are ridiculously high for the better class seats. The only decent-priced tickets that are available is for the football, most of which are located outside of London which I won't be able to attend.
However, I've had a look at the Paralympic tickets and there does seem to be quite a few tickets available. Not sure if I should book or not. Thought some might have forgotten about the Paralympics! -

Website's a pile of **** as well.
Incredibly badly thought out. -
Re: Olympic TicketsYeah, there's no right to phrase the games as "Inspire a generation" if they do not have access to tickets...(Original post by Indieboohoo)

But thta's exactly what I was on about. They've come and gone within minutes. Atrocious to be honest. -
Re: Olympic TicketsAnnoying that most there will have no substantial interest in the sport either. During the last ten years of my life I have devoted a great deal of time to competitive athletics. Tried for countless sessions in the ticket ballot, got none.(Original post by The Cornerstone)
It was like this for quite a while, but it's only the less popular ones and the very expansive ones available anyway. You won't find a Tennis or 100m final ticket for less than several hundreds of pounds. I got lucky when I got one last week for Men's Basketball.
Inspire a generation indeed, keep the long term devotees away. -
Re: Olympic TicketsAnd watching it and seeing all the empty seats just pisses me off at least they should allow people to turn up on the day and give them discounted tickets.(Original post by Wawasan)

Re: Olympic Tickets
I was at the GB Football at Old Trafford last Thursday. The event was a sell out, 76,000 seats all bought and paid for.
72,000 turned up.
Sometimes you can legitimately blame LOCOG for it, sometimes people just don't show up. And there's nothing LOCOG can do about that. What if people are just delayed in traffic?
Imagine the furore if someone arrived halfway through a session because of traffic issues and their seats had been taken by someone else. -
Re: Olympic TicketsHow do they know the people who have the tickets for those seats aren't just late, though?(Original post by Indieboohoo)

Re: Olympic TicketsTrue but they should say if you don't turn up on time you lose your seat after 20/30 minutes into the game. If they really wanted to go they would make the effort to get there early.(Original post by Drewski)

Or name and shame them that's what I heard this morning on the news.Last edited by Indieboohoo; 29-07-2012 at 18:55.
