a question about eligibility for the flu vaccine...
The surgery I'm registered with has already started their campaign for the flu vaccine! My mum gets its every year due to having complications following lung surgery. I've been diagnosed as asthmatic for my whole life, and my asthma has never been fully controlled. I spend all winter with a cold (I know this is different to flu!) and I catch every bug going which then seem to go straight to my chest. I've never been around anyone who has had flu, so I'm not sure if I'd catch that like everything else. Anyway, I've never been offered the flu vaccine and was just wondering if this is normal or not. I've never had an asthma attack requiring me to go to hospital and usually only get 2 a year so is my asthma not serious enough for the vaccine or have I been missed? I do get 1 or 2 chest infections in winter aswell.
Going anon since last time no posted on the health forum I got a 3 hour lecture from my family about using the internet for health advice (my sisters stalks my account!)
Thanks
