Spanish & Portuguese OR Spanish & French? Opinions please...
I'm going to university as a mature student next year to study languages - I definitely want to do Spanish but I'm not sure which language to study alongside this. When I went to college at 16 I studied Spanish and French for AS and I loved Spanish, but I didn't enjoy French so much, and I also felt I had more of a connection with the Spanish language. I don't know whether I should apply to study Portuguese (a language that I'm so eager to learn!) or French (probably a lot more useful, and I may regret not doing it in the future). I'm not entirely sure what I'd like to do after my degree, but I have been thinking of doing a GDL. What I'd like to know is whether it would be worth doing a Spanish & Portuguese degree, and should I go with the language I feel I would most enjoy or the one that would make me more employable?

If you have already studied French and you feel like you could enjoy learning Portuguese even more, I would say go for it! You can find people that speak portuguese almost everywhere and there are many developing countries like Brazil and Angola where portuguese is spoken and that are nowadays big employment markets... Therefore I believe it's a good investment in your future to learn portuguese!
But I'm suspicious since I'm portuguese... Eheh
