Re: Q for men: cute or beautiful?I don't know if I should post her picture her without her knowing, it'd be very naughty of me

One thing I can say is that she has very symmetrical features. The only features she has that fits under the "beautiful" category is her full lips. She has small eyes and a slim nose and slim face. And very well-kept hair. And perfect skin so she never wears makeup. Oh, and a very uninhibited smile too, which fits her sunny personality just fine
I sound jealous. I am. Very.

Oh, and she isn't white, if that's even relevant. -
Re: Q for men: cute or beautiful?I don't see why they would have to pretend at all on an internet forum? I'm going to go back to an example I used the other day, both Megan Fox and Emma Watson are never ever going to be with me. One is hot and regularly declared one of the most beautiful women in the world, the other is cute and your girl next door type. Neither of these women are obtainable, so I don't have to pretend I like one more than the other to be realistic about my chances. But in a world where I did have a chance with either of them, I could tell you right now that I would be infinitely more attracted to Emma Watson than I would Megan Fox.(Original post by -starlight-)
I think it's important to make a distinction between hot and beautiful. I think you've described the cute look quite well, but OP was talking about 'beautiful' women, not 'hot' women. In my opinion, you don't even have to be good looking to be hot. 'Hot' is more about sexy hair or facial expression, radiant skin and nice/toned figure with good boobs etc... 'Beautiful' implies striking good looks facially, coupled with grace and elegance.
I agree that some men prefer the cute look and some men prefer the hot look, when choosing between those two. However, most of the time, the beautiful look wins by a mile. I think less confident and less attractive guys would pretend they prefer cute women because they see that as more easily attainable, while beautiful women are these godlike figure that are hard to get.
That generally goes for girls in your every day scenario too.Last edited by FrostyLemon; 31-07-2012 at 14:55. -

I would say that Megan Fox is definitely more of a 'sexiest woman...' as opposed to the 'most beautiful'. As I said before, I think beautiful implies grace and elegance, which Megan Fox does not have. I was actually going to post her as an example of a typically hot woman and Emma Watson as an example of a typically cute woman, to point out that men would be split on the issue of who they prefer.
Maybe you're an exception, but the amount of white knighting on this forum is hilarious.
There is also another important factor to consider here. 'Beautiful' by definition means that the woman is good looking. Emma Watson is an example of a cute woman, who is also good looking, but a lot of cute women are not good looking at all. I would say that most Japanese girls are cute due to their child-like facial features and the way in which they present themselves, but obviously not all Japanese girls are good looking. -

Aww poor them having to settle with someone cute. Heaven forbid they might actually be attracted to cute people!
Also, why would you have to talk of successful men. That's like saying unsuccessful men don't get attractive partners?
I agree that being called beautiful is more of a compliment than being called cute, but some of us are born with a round pancake face and there's **** all we can do about it
Saying all that though, being a 'cute' round pancake face myself, I do go for 'beautiful' women with high cheek bones and full lips.
By 'successful', I'm not referring to billionaires and such. I'm talking about the kind of guy who has worked hard and done well for himself in life. So no, I don't think unsuccessful men get attractive partners because most women are not willing to settle for some penniless, jobless loner.
I didn't mean to sound so harsh. I'm not saying that being cute is a bad thing and yes, plenty of people do like that, but in the real world, most people feel that beautiful > cute. -

Who do you think is beautiful? Imo aishwarya/ jessica alba&white/adriana lima/monica belluci are all beautiful
Out of the ones you listed:
Aishwarya = beautiful
Jessica Alba = beautiful (sort of cute too)
Jessica White = beautiful
Adriana Lima = hot/sexy (pretty, not beautiful, in my opinion)
Monica Belluci = more hot than beautiful
More examples of who I think is beautiful:
Grace Kelly
Audrey Hepburn
Halle Berry
Angelina Jolie
Charlize Theron -
Re: Q for men: cute or beautiful?Well that's strange, same wavelength lol. I agree with the majority of what you have said. I think everyone has slightly different definitions of cute, hot and sexy and you'd have to determine what is what to come to some conclusion. Good looking cute and average looking cute are two completely different things so I get what you are saying. I probably am an exception, as the majority of lads I know would pick Megan Fox over Emma Watson. However some people genuinley do prefer that 'girl next door' look that she has.(Original post by -starlight-)

It's a bit like how Robert Pattinson and Brad Pitt are different types of good looking, some girls will like one and not the other.Last edited by FrostyLemon; 31-07-2012 at 21:52. -

The thing with Adriana Lima is that because she is a victoria secret model that she is seen as this hot brainless bombshell, but she has a very beautiful face. In most of her pics she does the pouty lips and squinty eye thing whi again makes her look the opposite of classy. But i adore her; she didn't have her first kiss until she was 17, she lost her virginity to her husband (not that i care, but it shows character strength), she seems to be a great mother and in her interviews she seems to come across as genuine, intelligent and nice.

YES I'm obsessed with her
With Monica Belluci, i saw her or the first time in Malena and my jaw literally dropped. She oozed class and beauty. But i guess it's subjective. so it's all good. :h -
Re: Q for men: cute or beautiful?
Thanks for the replies everyone!
If I could just ask... can you also imagine that you could have EITHER girl - so don't pick cute because you think that's who you more have a shot with. Let's say both are 'in your league'.
When I say cute v beautiful, this is the sort of thing:

Re: Q for men: cute or beautiful?
I would think maybe cute is preferable for younger guys.
But I think beautiful is something I would associate with being a woman. (By this I don't mean to claim that not everyone is a woman, I just kind of mean that cliche of a mature womanly woman if that makes any sense!)
Its like Emma Watson I kind of think of her as a pretty girl but say someone like Rosie Huntington Whitley I think of as a beautiful woman.
I think an older man would be more inclined to go towards the beautiful womanly look while a younger guy would prefer the cute, pretty girly look.
I wouldn't class myself as cute, I have never been called cute before but I have been called beautiful quite often by men who are quite a bit older than me. So I think age makes a big difference!

Maybe you're an exception, but the amount of white knighting on this forum is hilarious.
