Lincoln university is good for Film and TV studies, my boyfriend studies in that department, and it looks like one of the leading film courses there is (and we've looked at a few). The course requirement is 280 points, so about BBC, but the competition for all courses in the department are quite high. There are 2 main studios for the students to use, and there are alot of world leading staff who teach on the course. There are also links with the BBC. Mike Newell (director of some of the Harry Potters) helped to develop the course, and so has quite a lot of input.

First of all, great course choice! Aberystwyth have an excellent range of cameras/studios, which completely blew me away. It's also a well-recognised university in the industry and is home to their own BBC studio. Another good one is Bournemouth Uni, but it's very hard to get in there (you'll need AAA/380 tariff points). But again, they have a decent studio (although smaller than Aber) but they're also well-known in the industry. The other unis I looked at were Portsmouth (280 tariff points) though I wasn't too impressed and Birmingham City University, who, decided not to run the course for 2012 due to lack of interest.

I think Aber and Bournemouth are definitely worth considering though!

Good luck with your decision making, and I hope I've helped.
