Theory Test
I've got my theory test on Thursday and i'm a bit confused about it.
How many different parts to it are there??
Does anyone know a website which helps out with the hazardous part??
Does anyone know a website that will let me do a practise test for free??
How long is it??
My mum has booked it and i don't want to seem daft by asking her how long the theory test is
Cheers for reading -
There are 2 parts to the theory.
1). The theory questions
2). The hazard perception
Have you really booked it without even beginning to revise?
You are best to purchase a proper DSLA CD with practice questions of the entire test.
The test from what i remember lasts about 50 minutes and isn't all that difficult it's mainly about common sense.
I suggest you buy the CD and get revising!

I have this BSM complete test book, it's got a ton of multiple choice questions which hopefully will help me out.
How many hours did you revise for the theory exam?? -

Best bet is probably picking up a practice DVD that lets you do mock tests, best way of preparation I found.Does anyone know a website which helps out with the hazardous part??
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/diol1/do...ing/dg_4017669Does anyone know a website that will let me do a practise test for free??

Again though, the DVD will have like 900 questions on it, allowing you to do as many practice tests as you like. It may also be more up to date than the second website listed. Somebody else posted one though so you may be alright really. When you can pass a mock test every time you should breeze the actual thing.
Depends how long you take answering the questions. On my real test I went back through all the questions and double checked my answers. In total it probably lasted about 45 minutes or so?How long is it??

Re: Theory Test
I am also taking my theory test soon. I have been using the 'Driving Success' iPhone app (paid 69p for the full version) and I have been getting along fine. I recommend this app as it has all the official revision questions in it. There is all a free version, but that will not get you through the test as it does not include all of the questions.
To help me furthermore, and also with the hazard perception section of the test, I have been using this CD. While expensive, it is apparently as close as it gets to the real thing, and just by revising each topic for an hour a day, I have boosted my score from a fail to 50/50 on some occasions; scoring well above the pass rate on every mock test I have taken in recent times.
So far, I have found the hazard perception the easiest part. As for the questions, its just about revising them and learning the answers. Eventually, you will get it.
Good luck! -
Re: Theory Test
The only advise you could need is to make sure you click twice on every hazard you spot on the hazard perception, once as soon as you see a hazard and once a couple of seconds later. Doing that saved me from failing the section, as I'd always identify a possible hazard and click the first time much too quickly, before the computer was even ready to acknowledge it. A flawed test if I say so myself.
As for the theory questions, they are common sense and they only have a limited selection that they could ask you. It's a breeze. -
Re: Theory Test
Revised like 20 minutes on DirectGov website and passed first time.
49/50 in questions part
just over the pass mark in the video thing (hazard perception).
Done that, applied for my practical same day and passed that first time this year March.
Both the practical and theory tests are extremely easy.
Little ADVICE:
For the hazard part click 3 times per hazard you see, NOT fast, 1 second gap between all 3 clicks.
If you want to know anything else just ask. -
Re: Theory TestJust making sure to stress this part for anyone doing their theory soon.(Original post by Savannahh)

Re: Theory TestQuick question, was it the developing hazards that you clicked more than once for, and just clicked once for the potential hazards that didn't come to anything?(Original post by Savannahh)

Re: Theory TestAre the clips in the actual test similar to those at the bottom of this page: http://www.driving-test-success.com/...tion_main.html(Original post by Mockery)

Re: Theory Testyeah that's what i did, and it says to do that in the intro before you start(Original post by DjamesH94)
Quick question, was it the developing hazards that you clicked more than once for, and just clicked once for the potential hazards that didn't come to anything?
so one click for potential hazards, then if they start developing, click twice more, and like others said, give a one second gap between each (in case the first is too early)
i got a dvd to help prepare for it - was really helpful, you could play it back and it would show you the timeframe, and when you should click
