    Student Broadband Question
    Hey guys

Not sure if this is the right section but its to do with bills so...

I need a hand, i am looking for broadband for my uni house next year, 12 month let.

Problem is, all contracts on good broadband (VM Cable) are 16 month...

Is there a good option for 12 month contract broadband? I need ATLEAST 50mb and wanted the 100mb VM as I do a lot of uploading and live streaming which is heavy on the internet.

Cheers for any tips with this as it seems the 50mb VM 12 month we used to use has gone! and i really would like the 100mb.

Speak to an online advisor at Virgin Media, a guy yesterday said he'd offer me a 9 month contract, even though there's nothing like that on the website I think...

yea just searched and they have a student broadband package of 30mb or 60mb for 9 months. so you would need to run it sept-may really, its not 100mb but will probably have to do!

    If you're in a 12 month let, wouldn't you want a 12 month contract?

I have 100mb from Virgin Media, with a good tv package too, for £46.

There's 7 of us in the house, so that's only £6.60 per. I suppose it's lucky I live with so many, though.

100mb is 16 month minimum now, 12 dosent exist with VM on anything so no choice!

I have 100 at home but dosrnt look like its a possibility at uni due to minimum contract length!

Wow that is absolutely ridiculous! I take it it's cheaper if you do the 16 month contract? Which you could then suspend for a number of months before you move into your new house, and explain to your housemates that you'll save on installation fees!
