It actually said any time you judge. but ok I will find another. How about Romans 14: 1-10. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/...&version=NIVUK
loool you tell me about doubting others' faith but the quote starts "Accept the one whose faith is weak" which is exactly the same. How is the author in any position to judge?

I don't know where you are, but where I am its 3am so I'm going to bed. Write me a message on my profile if you want to carry on talking about this, otherwise I might forget

Please don't pick and choose. Accept he one whose faith is weak means not to judge their faith or doubt it. Which is the opposite of what you do.
Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarrelling over disputable matters. 2 One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.
You shall not treat those with 'less faith' with contempt or judgement as you need to accept their faith as it is. Not doubt it.

I don't believe that 'Accept the one whose faith is weak' corresponds to ' Don't judge their faith'.

How would I be able to recognise and accept a person of weak faith without first making a judgement on their faith?

And I don't treat homosexuals with contempt.

If you have to accept their faith you cannot judge their faith to be non-existant. Which is exactly what you did. You don't know who's faith is strong or weak so you should accept that they have faith. Again showing how it is not your place to question another's faith.

How do you not treat them with contempt? You believe simply by being homosexual they cannot be Christian that somehow they are undeserving of that title or lack faith...

Yes it is possible. Gays aren't banned in Christianity.

It's the homosexual acts that are sinful in Christianity.

Yes. It just depends on whether you see the Bible as the true infallible word of God, or appreciate it was written by people and reflects cultural views at the time.

The Bible bans a lot of things. I certainly know Christians who shave.

I'm non-religious, but I've always thought that if there is a god he has more important things to do that worry about who we enter relationships with.
    Accidentally negged, sorry.

Ok so Leviticus was clearly written when God was in a bad mood.

Well of course, Christians just believe that you'll be committing a sin if you act on it, same with Islam.

Yes you can. You're your own individual and therefore you call the shots whether you're religious or not. Also, many many Christians cherry pick what they believe. I know as a Catholic I did.

In the Bible, it makes it very clear that homosexuality is a huge sin. (I would like to make it clear I am not attacking any homosexuals reading this- it is a sin I have struggled with myself to an extent.)

    1) Homosexuality in the sense of acting it out and participating in sexual acts is a sin.

    2) A Christian struggling with the sin of homosexuality may fall into it- they may get same sex partners and struggle- just like a 'slag' Christian might find it hard not to participate in sexual activity.

    3) A true Christian would want to avoid the sin They would pray and keep praying about this sin- keep giving it to God, keep trusting and keep believing.

Homsexuality is very difficult, because the individual cannot help how they feel. I know it is hard, but you have to put full trust in God and not to give up praying.

God will not condemn a homosexual Christian to hell.

Just wanted to point out this is only true of modern day translations of the bible. So I'm not sure of the validity of the term homosexual in such passages. It seems very likely to me that a bias worked its way into translation.

So I know threads on homosexuality have been popping up like crazy lately but this was recently brought up in one of the threads and I found it an interesting line of thought. Is it possible to be a gay Christian?
Why would you follow a holy book that calls you an abomination?

I believe it is possible. Yes, being gay is against Christianity - but you can't choose who you fall in love with. If you are attracted to the same sex then that's that. You shouldn't have to hide your sexuality because of your religion. And if you're gay and want to get married in a Christian church because you have a spiritual relationship with God then you should be able to. We live in the 21st century people, we should all be more accepting of these things...

I don't. It was point raised in a different thread and I thought it deserved its own. Also whether or not the Bible actually calls homosexuals abominations is questionable.

The translation of the actual text was not always that homosexuals were called abominations. If I remember correctly it was about males prostitutes in the temple. Specifically I think it talked about effeminate men, but that was a phrase that generally referred to male prostitutes.
