    Coming to Nottingham from Aus!
    Hi guys,

Applied to go on exchange from Monash Uni in Aus to Uni of Nottingham, commencing Jan 2013.

So... what's uni life like in Nottingham?

Where/how is the best/cheapest/easiest way to get accommodation for just one semester?

I'll be doing engineering, 3rd year so if anyone is doing that, let me know how it is!

    Thanks,

    Mitch

There's loads of cheap/reasonable accommodation in Lenton-£58-£96 (an area in nottingham near the uni of N) plus there be loads of students about. Im sure you'll find something for the semester but you'll have to start looking around November.
There's a good site accommodationforstudents.com or you could always pop into the accommodation office on campus.

Had some friends that did this from UNSW (I went the other way and did an exchange in Sydney!). If you want cheap, go with a house in Lenton. If you can, get into on-campus halls. It's easier to get your bearings, and you're surrounded by new people/potential friends. Nightingale Hall is awesome-used to be a hotel.

Uni life's great-make sure to explore the town. There's loads to do beyond just nights out, too. Check out http://www.su.nottingham.ac.uk/activ...ocieties/atoz/. NSU is one of the biggest in the country.
