Help! Anyone who has ever done a trek, a long walk, gone hiking or running!
Basically, at the moment I am working as a marshall/ warden in a very large car park. My day entails walking up and down, from 8 until 6 with two half hour breaks. Basically I am on my feet for around 9 hours. I have two problems. 1) I am an unfit female. Like really unfit. Generally, I dont get out of breath or anything because it's just walking, but by the end of the day my legs, feet and hips are killing me. Anyone have any ideas on how to combat this? Bubble baths help a little. I tried to get my bf to give me a massage but even a light touch is pretty painful.
2) I have NO money. I have to wear black pumps and I could only afford a £6 pair from Primark. Because of this the soles are thin and do little to protect me feel. Anyone know where I can get cheap pumps that my provide a little protection to my soles?
I work 7 days a week and so dont get the weekend off. Its temp for three weeks and I get a grand at the end of it and i REALLY need the money.
Any advice on how to combat the pain that I get from my bum all the way to my toes? -

You cant be that unfit if you work 7 days a week and on your feet all day
Just stretch out afterwards, have a bath to relax
2. You could ask to borrow some money for 3 weeks just look around and find shoes that are comfortable for you
Shoes are down to your personal opinionLast edited by 1992dean; 30-07-2012 at 15:24. -

Tough out it! Think of the money! Eat loads of protein rich food to help repair those legs and sleep 8-9 hours a night to get all the rest you need. No boozing missy! Since you have no "rest days" for the next few weeks you will be feeling it each and every day. The only other thing I can suggest is some better shoes, but you will need to borrow money off someone. Word to the wise, don't go to any of those websites you see on TV.

Wearing pumps is your main problem. They don't give your feet much support at all and if you are doing a job like that you need good support. Like someone above said: go buy a £25 pair of walking boots from sports direct or mountain warehouse, you really need them.

A decent set of walking shoes should help a lot although getting a really good pair takes time and costs a fair bit (I took an hour in a good outdoor shop trying different shoes on to find a good fit.) They also tend not to be black.
A good pair of thick walking socks should help as well.
It might be worth looking in a place like Millets, Blacks, Cotswolds for those types of things.
An alternative place to look would be in army surpless stores. I get steel toe capped boots from there for around £20. They're not as good as decent walking shoes but it's a lot cheaper and they have some support.
