I am Willing to go anywhere really , Austin was somewhere I was looking into and seems to actually be perfect for what im wanting to do . I have looked at the Geography program here and the reviews of the Uni and they seem great. I would like to stay in one of the more southern states . I haven't looked into Pheonix or the carolinas so I dont really know what they would be like .
I grew up in Arizona so I am more familiar with there than some of the other areas, but I have travelled around the states quite a lot.

Phoenix (ASU) is a huge city and like a lot of west coast cities is very diverse and spread out. ASU is located in Tempe, which is to the east of downtown Phoenix. In the summer is it hot!! Not sure about their Geography programme academically, but it is quite well known as a party college

Are you going on a sports scholarship to play football?

Have you checked out the NCAA website to see which colleges have good soccer programmes? I would imagine it would be amazing to to play for one of the large colleges like Texas, where they live and breath college sports

I have a consultancy agency who will try their hardest to get me the best program they can , however D1 NCAA teams are very selective as they can only offer full scholarships . I would love an offer from a D1 team but I'll have to wait and see . My friend was In D3 and he loved it there so im sure I'll have an excellent experience no matter what.

florida is very humid,so if you're looking for dry and warm california might be the best, but trust me you're going to miss rain a lot. so I'd go with florida. i also like texas it's not as dry as california but also not as tropical as florida.
so about orlando. my cousin goes to University of Central Florida and she really likes it. there are i think 3 universities in the area and orlando is a very nice, very clean and very friendly city. also usually very nice people and a good student community. there is this whole area of bars, pubs and clubs downtown and some of the bars are basically just full of uni students sorted by different faculties. it really is an amazing city. another thing if you're looking for a part time of summer job or whatever disneyland, island of adventure and sea world are nearbya nd, boy,do they pay good

Yeah , It seems mostly the southern states would be my preference . I have been to florida 14 times , and it seems to be a very nice place all round. I went into downtown and really liked how clean and modern it was .

I've just been on 'oliday to California and I found it very easy to get into the flow of life there. It's all so laid back the climate in LA was perfect - nice and warm, but not blisteringly hot (grey May/ June gloom). You said some areas of the city looked a bit rough around the edges - but it's the same in any city. It's so spectacularly diverse you'll never be bored.

However, if you're going to be living there for a long time you might want to consider that California can be earthquake/ forest fire central, and the LA traffic is the worst I've ever seen - you can't get anywhere without a car, but once you're in the car you'll be stuck in a queue for an hour.

other question: if you choose florida do you choose orlando or are you considering other cities? i mean orlando is one of the most beautiful cities, but it never hurts to look at other options. miami wouldn't be an option for you i think, since you said you'd like a clean city without parts that look like ****. miami is great, but i wouldn't want to live there. it's like LA in a way. also a great city, but it's sort of tough to live there. why, besides the wheather of course are you so fixed on the southern states? i mean they're great. definitely a better mentality than the nothern states in my opinion(they have something but i prefer the southern states). but if you're gettinga full ride no matter where you go why not consider ivy league? i mean it doesnt have to be the classic ivy league uni like princeton or harvard, but what about NYU? i know someone who went there and he said it is the greatest university of the world he might have exaggerated just a tiny little bit, but if you're getting a scholarship why not consider ivy league?

The thing is I cannot simply choose where i go and to what college , I must be offered a place through my program. And then choose from my offers , I was just asking this question so I knew what offers would be better for me in terms of their location. I would also need to look into other factors of the offer. Also I am not gauranteed a full scholarship unless a D1 team makes an offer.

I don't really have anything to contribute to this conversation, I just felt like saying how absurdly descriptive the bolded part is. Is "with Beats Audio" really necessary, TSR?

Anyway, I'm an American currently at university so if you have any specific questions on schools or anything I might be able to help you. Or anything else that hasn't been answered. And I'm just gonna go ahead and say Maryland is a great state.

Really ? , Ive never noticed whether or not it was more expensive than LA .Probably because I was always with my parents . Im not too fussed about the theme parks as I would be if I was on holiday. To put it in the simplist way possible im looking for somewhere 'nice' . Where the people are nice and the area is nice .

And no I wouldnt be driving . I would be living on campus so I dont know how easy it is to go to places if thats the case.
Well, it is possible to travel around in LA on public transport (its LA! lots of people do it) though, I prefer to have a car.... Theyve also built a good rail/tube system.

As I said, people are nice and calm in LA and LA is nice.

With regards to theme parks, dont worry because LA has the best theme parks! Knotts berry farm (my favourite and the home of snoopy), universal studios, disney land, six flags and magic mountain and many more!

Plus we have sooo many beaches and things to do! for example, you can rent a bike in venice and follow the bikers path where people bike it all teh way to santa monica and malibu! and the atmosphere is totally relaxed! you can where whatevver you want and act however you like as no one will look at you in a weird way I wear pajamas to the supermarket

Im glad Ive had the chance to grow up in LA for a while when I was small, and glad that its my second home.

no its not but it's not my fault. i got it for christmas. just found it hanging from chimney the chimney(he has a name. it's chimney) on christmas day. my parents sort of changed the tradition with the socks. once we found a hi-fi system hanging from chimney the chimney on christmas morning. man, that ws fun...
at what university are you stufying? My moms cousin lives in maryland. i don't know where exactly, but only like 50 miles away from DC since she works there.

btw i don't even really know what beats audio is or does. i mean i know they do this whole headphone thing, but i don't really think they're better than other headphones at that price level. just got the phone for christmas, because my stepdads friends colleague got it for a ridiculously small price.

Hi mate. I'm about to enter my gap year and because I wana have a bit of an adventure I wondered if I could apply to a uni in the US. But because the tutition fees are so high and also because I wana continue playing football I want to get a football scholarship. I just have no idea where to go or who to contact for trials or any other requirements as there are so many websites I'm not sure which one to trust. Could you tell me where you went or contacted for this and explain the application process a little?

I went with firstpointUSA.com , The process is simple to begin with you go onto their website apply with a few very simple details and most people will be offered an athletic trial. At this point they will send you information with a date and a venue that they use closest to you . At this point you will arrive and will be asked to bring along an Academic and Athletic CV . On the day they will give you a half hour - an hour Presentation. You will then play 3 7-a side games where they will assess your ability. After This process they will contact you to say whether you have made it or not . The selection process is quite competitive but not overly competitive. They select about 400 people a year from UK , Ireland , Europe and Austrailia .

Tip : Be vocal , confident and give your full effort. They value potential nearly as high as current ability.

If successful you will be invited for an interview where they will assess you as a person and see if they think you would be the right person for a place . It is simple questions such as what you want to study , why you would want to do it etc.

Tip : Do your research into the full process , try to get in contact with people that have had the experience . Theres nothing people like more in an interview than you knowing about the company and what will happen. Even mention how you came on this to get information first hand.

If you are offered a contract for a place on the program then well done its up to you to take it or leave it. However the service does come at a price . There is a one off service fee of £2,495. Dont let this worry you too much , After all they are the worlds number one in this service . I know it is a lot of money however this entitles you to stay on the program until you accept an offer . They can not offer a guarantee due to NCAA regulations but in 11 years of the service they have had 100% success rate . Another point to take into consideration is that not all scholarships are a full scholarship , though many are you may have to pay a few thousand a year. However once again this seems alot . But often you would be more expensive to live at home as the scholarship covers food , housing , tuition fees and even equipment. There is a full breakdown of costs on their website under the scholarship tab. And so you dont think i can afford what alot of others cant . I stay with a single parent who brings in less than 18k and has me and my little sister to support. So with saving and fund raising most people can afford this excellent opportunity . Also there are very few things worth spending alot of money on than your future.

If you choose to go for it, You will then have to do your SAT's . Get academic certificates signed and stamped from your school ,Fill out your profile , Register for the NCAA and get a reference from a coach and from a teacher.

Once this paperwork is finished you will then begin to be invited to client games where you play other members of the program and video footage is recorded of you . These happen monthly and your footage is edited into your online profile . At this point firstpoint will forward your profile onto some of the 3,000 universities they are connected with . And from that point they will receive offers for you negotiate the best deal and forward it onto you.

Tip : Try to attend the showcase game in London in December where up to 150 us Coaches come to watch 3 client games first hand . Also there are cheaper programs out there . These are often only up to 3 men teams with less contacts in the US and can often expect you to gather your own footage . Firstpoint have a team of 30 - 40 staff allowing more time to be spend on each athlete and record and edit profesional footage of you.

After this the choice is yours on what offer to accept remember to take into consideration . Budget , Academic reputation and Location . Its an experience you wont have a chance to do again . So if its what you want to do go for it.

LA is VERY overrated, don't go there, unless it's for UCLA. The best cities in America are as follows. New Orleans, Miami, Boston, New York, San Francisco, Phoenix and Denver.
