Whilst this G4S guy was totally out of order and a complete imbecile; this sort of has a point
    (Original post by BDSyes)
He shouldn't have spat at him, but he does have a point about him being a baby killer.
No he doesn't, there is no point. I'm a bit disturbed by the number of people who believe that British soldiers in Afghanistan just randomnly kill civilians for the ****s and giggles. Yes, civilians have died in Afghanistan, it's a fricking WAR for crying out loud, but they are isolated incidents that are unintentional and regretable. Any incidents that are intentional are dealt with firmly and swiftly, often resulting in jail time, and to label all British soldiers 'child killers' based on the actions of a neglible minority of soldiers is disgusting. By that logic, all students are alcoholic hooligan rapists.

How the **** is he a baby killer?
More importantly, why does he object to spitting on someone he deems to be a baby killer?

Hahaha, true that. If I thought someone was a baby killer, I wouldn't object to them being spat on. But, I guess some people are more calm-headed.

The Daily Mail often exaggerates or flat out lies to make a headline. I wouldn't believe it.

G4S is just a huge joke. They clearly have no standards for recruiting.
    Fixed.

Love how they put "Asian" in flashing lights. I can't imagine they'd say "black" or "white" man in that manner, suggesting it's pretty normal for "an Asian" to do that.

Regardless of his colour, not the best way to protest but the soldiers can **** off as far as I'm concerned. They aren't fighting for this country or people's rights, they are fighting for the selfish aims of a few in power. They are enablers with a lack of conscience and misplaced pride. Baby killers is apt, they're killing more civilians than ever.

I'm surpised by the number of people who believe that the British forces kill civilians for fun? I hope you don't honestly believe that? If a British armed forces person bragged about it and ONE person complained then the man would be in the ****. I mean... I got punished for self-defense with another sailor ffs! (a story for another day). The rules in the armed forces are strict... Yes there are bad apples but I have yet to meet a murderer, let alone a sadistic psychopathic murderer.

When someone is simple minded and arrogant and the same time it can be so tedious. I'll just copy and paste a reply of mine from a previous thread. Apparently we have no shortage of idiots.

Your opinions and ideologies are not absolute. You may be wrong, and your contempt for the opposing ones makes no room for that possibility. Every war that has ever occurred or ever will, has it's fair share of wise, honorable people of virtuous intentions who opposed and supported its' declaration. A person who supports the current wars should have the humility to understand that your objection does not make you weak or a coward. You should have the humility to understand that their support does not make them immoral or a brute.

The decision to support or participate in war is a solemn one. There is a reason why at any given time our population is somewhat divided on such a decision, and it's not because half of humanity lacks your insight. I'm inclined to think it was a mistake to go to war with Iraq and to a lesser extent Afghanistan. History has proven to be the best judge of these things. We will have to wait and see.

Unfortunately, I do feel near certain that at some point in our future, our generation, our children, or their children will need to fight in order to protect the the basic human rights we hold dear. When that time occurs, in my mind those brave soles will be heroes. You can rest assured that many will call them baby killers. Some idiot will even spit on them. I wonder what you would do.

Yes it is frustrating when people take the actions of a few and apply it to the many. I don't agree with the war, but I wouldn't have a go at the soldiers, I'd have a go at the ones pulling the strings. Like you say, when it happens, it's dealt with swiftly as it should be.

This is true, not only would the culprit making the claim be **** on from up high he would also face ridicule from his fellow soldier for being a war criminal walt.

Unfortunately what probably was a good point has been drowned out in the usual hyperbole about troops - 'herp derp heroes; our boys; disgusting to say a bad word of them etc etc'

    well...

Shocking as this is, I am surprised that this received little mention within the press and outrage within the general public.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...-audience.html

It takes a lot to get upset about anything that appears in the press but was absolutely disgusting, every year we pay tribute to those who died in 9/11 yet it appears to have been too much to mourn those who were murdered in attacks outside their borders.

While the wars we're fighting may be misguided do you realise that if, in some hypothetical conflict, your life was in danger your average british soldier would give their life to protect you and yours?
So that gives them free rein to do whatever they like around the world, even if it's unjust?
Simply following your duty doesn't wash you of your crimes.

Which of our basic rights are the British forces fighting for in Iraq and Afghanistan? None. Please stop being so naive.

I'd like to know why the solider felt the need to search the guy. However his reaction is disgusting.

All G4S employees and soldiers should be searched before they start their shift, at least that's what we got told SOP's was in the training phase. Who knows until some more of the story comes to light though.

Unfortunately i dont think our ceremony has done very much to endear us to the americans. Us promoting nhs while theyre embroiled in a debate about is pretty close to interference in their affairs. Interference by an idiot clearly since the "king a england" telling them what to do again isnt gonna support the lefts argument over there very well. Also i cant remember what the norm is for these things but everyone coming and putting their little flags on a hill while ours towers above didnt look right to me.

He probably just set off a metal detector. Olympic security is pretty much the same as airport security.

On a side note, when I was at the Olympics I passed through security run by the Army and security by G4S. The Army were unfailingly polite and enthusiastic, chatting to people and looking like they were having a great time.

G4S, on the other hand, barely did me the courtesy of looking at me (mostly they were chatting to their co-workers and ignoring the spectators) or helping answer questions. In some ways, perhaps this soldier should feel lucky; he managed to get a reaction and acknowledgement from the inept bunch that is G4S.
