No because people just presume people to be white if no race is mentioned. Don't you think ?

your comment doesn't justify why they had to state his race.

The nhs is part of our values in the same way as secularism and laughing at nazi salutes. These however are things that are very divisive. Lots of americans dont like the idea of nhs and jews tend not to think the nazis were very funny.

The chinese display of collectivism wasnt as overt as writing "mao" in lights would have been. Their focus was on confucius who is someone who isnt a partucularly divisive figure. Quite the opposite in fact.
    indeed.

You're a cog in the machine. Guilty I'm afraid. There's nothing just about fighting in Afghanistan.

It is often the people that see things simplistically, in black and white, good or bad, Not the person with eyes open to the full spectrum, that sees that humanity and morality are not an on/off switch, that should be feared, for they are the ones who are easily convinced to do something in the name of their own warped sense of justice.

With such a disturbing willingness to pass judgment over others knowing so very little about them, i find myself unconcerned about your personal opinion of what is 'just'.

Love how they put "Asian" in flashing lights. I can't imagine they'd say "black" or "white" man in that manner, suggesting it's pretty normal for "an Asian" to do that.

Regardless of his colour, not the best way to protest but the soldiers can **** off as far as I'm concerned. They aren't fighting for this country or people's rights, they are fighting for the selfish aims of a few in power. They are enablers with a lack of conscience and misplaced pride. Baby killers is apt, they're killing more civilians than ever.
    Oh come off it

This was a discriminatory attack of abuse on someone for nothing other than their job

guy should be sacked by this idiot company

yes he was asian doesnt really matter, no need to mention it, but whos betting hes from the indian subcontinent and is an uneducated pratt?- ME!

The security guard was a fool. I think spitting in general is disgusting, I would have punched the security guard for it, so good on the soldier for showing more restraint.

If this can be claimed as assault I would press charges against the guard.

But the generalising of "baby killer" is stupid, the guard has no idea where or when the soldier served. So unless he had followed the soldier first hand he knows crap all. By the sam logic as "all soldiers are baby killers" all asians are terrorists

You were in the Navy... your frontline experience (unless you were a Marine which I doubt) is rather limited. Civilians got killed by accident in the opening of Iraq and I know a few whom in the chaos have accidentally shot civilians. They don't brag about it though and were unwilling to talk about the experience but because I knew the guys well, they did tell me something... they were warning of the horrors of war really.
    Thread bump

Were you in the forces? From reading the above it sounds like you weren't. I too was in the Navy and just because the Navy serves mainly on warships doesn't mean we didn't go to the frontline. I personally did. And I have plenty of friends who did and still do as well. It might not be that common but it does happen quite often so don't judge until you've heard the individuals story. Did you assume we deployed for 7 months to sit there getting a tan? If you have served in the forces then you're just plain daft. This isn't intended to be confrontational btw (i realise it may sound that way though) so no offence intended.
