Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"
God, I remember reading an article by Jan Moir for my English Language exam, all about why she hated Wimbledon. (Over-commercialisation).
Had no idea it was in the Daily Fail.
Can't believe she wrote "some bitch from Holland." Marianne Vos was the fastest woman on the planet or something, Lizzie Armistead did amazingly- so close. Bloody Daily Fail. Such a rubbish newspaper. -

Well all I'm saying is I can't wait to see what they write about the Japanese mens gymnastics team after the final tonight. I think that will be interesting.
A fairly written article I think -
Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"Oh I agree, I wonder why they haven't included any borderline racist comments today?(Original post by Cephalus)

That was nice of them. I still hate the Daily mail. -
Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"What, just like Rebecca 'reflection-of-face-in-back-of-spoon' Adlington?(Original post by Podcaster)
On a unrelated note, i'm no feminist or even a female but I feel like it would suck to be a female because you get judged by your looks on everything you do. Whatever a woman is doing be it cycling or running a company their appearance has to be mentioned. -
Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"See what I mean? Was that really necessary? If she was a man her looks would hardly get a mention. Ok Rooney got called Shrek a few times but it was never to the level of abuse that poor Adlington gets. Girl has great talent and all anyone cares about is her face. Music has the same problem pretty much. Today's so called musicians are more pretty faces than their actual singing ability. I think this society should value talent over looks.(Original post by mc1000)

Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"Mate, stop being such a loser and just appreciate her for the great athlete she is.(Original post by mc1000)

Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"In the future, I wouldn't blame people if they look back at the Daily Mail and conclude that we were still semi-barbaric in the early 21st century...

Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"I thoroughly agree. I just found Frankie Boyle's comment amusing; and it certainly doesn't impact my opinion of her as an athlete.(Original post by Podcaster)

I do appreciate her for the great athlete she is... and I have nothing against her face - they're Frankie Boyle's words, not mine.(Original post by bodie)
Mate, stop being such a loser and just appreciate her for the great athlete she is. -
Re: Daily Mail refers to Olympic cyclist as "some bitch"Considering it criticises women day in day out and has some of the most prudish and conservative attitudes toward them, I'm more concerned about the fact that it has the highest female readership of any UK paper...(Original post by amyelizabeth2681)
Am I the only one that finds the fact that this is the second most widely circulated newspaper in Britain slightly disturbing?
