    Meals you're proud of!
I just made myself the most amazing dinner ever, and wanted to share

It was pan fried scallops in garlic and black pepper, with a corriander salad and prawns in a homemade marie-rose sauce.

    nom nom.

What dishes have you created that you're particuarly proud of? Any recipes would be great too!

Can you upload some instagram pictures of this fine cuisine? I'm very intrigued.

This is a dessert and a bit lame compared to yours, but I make an amazing apple crumble with custard :o: Get really proud when I see the family scoof their faces

I LOVE crumble, and it is a bit of an art to get the topping just right! It's so easy to make it go soggy, so it is something to be proud of!

    yes

but I homecooked them in butter and garlic, made the salad myself, shelled prawns, cooked them and made the marie rose sauce myself.

I dont think that's too bad an effort, compared to just living off pot noodle like a lot of students do!

Looks good. And a glass of wine too, the picture of sophistication aha! Though, I'd of put the salad down by half and double the prawny bit I've made quite a few meals I'm proud of. I made this the other day for the whole family.

It kinda looked better on a plate and not in the ugly cooking dish though.

    What is it?
Potato dauphinois by the looks of it, thinly sliced potato with cream and garlic (some people top with cheese, such people are heretics to be burned at the steak). A simple dish (Although slicing potatoes thinly and uniformly can be a pain), but utterly delicious and they never fail to impress P=

The last thing I cooked that I was impressed with was a lovely selection of BBQ stuff. I did steal the pulled pork recipe I used (for anyone reading this, you must go into google and search for "Heston's pulled pork", it's phenomenal. Give it longer to cook than the recipe says though, an extra hour at least), but I came up with a love dry rub for the ribs and a great orange & maple BBQ sauce for the wings. Nothing too gastronomic, I was more proud of myself for the scale, cooking for eight people was a first!

A spin on the thread, a meal I'm proud of having cooked for me. My ex managed to throw together venison burgers and salad as he knows I love it. Kudos pal!

Good to see that we are not the only household who get all their glass wear from McDs

I can make an amazing 'cheesy pasta bake' or macoroni cheese. I've only just perfected this, but its so, so good!

I make a good toad-in-the-hole for 3 or 4 people, needed to practise making it for less so I can make it at uni. I also make a reasonable sausage casserole.

I'm not too bad at making stir frys (occasionally go too saltly or too spicy though), and my stews are pretty good. My healthy brownies are also legendary around here!

I think my best dishes are probably my cheesy pasta bake, and my healthy brownies though!

I make awesome tiger bread pizza slices of tiger bread ( in itself), smothered in tomato puree, cheese and any other toppings on top and stick it in the oven for ten minutes. Not exactly a meal but it's lovely :sogood: oh, and I also make really nice chocolate cupcakes
