Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???
Im booking in my third driving test

I failed my first one because of my reversing parking and my second because my tyre TOUCHED the bloodly curve on a mini - roundabout...PISSED OF SO MUCH.
I really want to book in my third test really quickly and all the dates are for the END OF SEPTEMBER but there is one for AUGUST but its at 1:39pm.....do you think i should take it???? Will the roads be really busy at that time. But even if there is loads of traffic what's the point of the examiner taking me in the taffic because all i'll be doing is sitting in traffic for 20 minutes or so and what is the point of that.
So what do you all think???
Thanks to anyone who answers

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???
Sitting in traffic is a great part of a driving test. You don't have to do anything for the time you are stuck. There is a time limit on the test. If you in traffic long enough, then you will miss out on certain parts of the test by default. Booking busy times has a drawback. using the handbrake a million times in crawling traffic etc etc.

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???
Book it. The traffic shouldn't be too bad at that time. And as others have said, even if it is, you'll have longer to sit and analyse the situation and think about what you're doing next. I know a lot of people who passed 3rd time, myself included. Sounds like you are more than ready for it! Good luck!

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???Ah, the wonderful 18 hour intensive course! Who wants to start the betting that he'll be in an accident within a year? Come on people, there's money to be made here!(Original post by MrWhosane)
Ahh, my test is at 1.35 in a couple of weeks. I've only had one lesson so far lmao. I've got an intensive 18 hour course a week before the test

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???
It'll be busier because of the lunch time rush, but really if you can drive, it shouldn't matter what the time is! Although I can understand it might make you a bit more nervous if you usually have nerves. Just think about what people have said already, you won't have to travel that far out and as long as you keep the car stable, you haven't really got to do anything whilst your stuck in traffic! You can evaluate the road ahead/any potential hazards that you see all in due time
Good luck.

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???I did that same 18 hour course last summer, passed with two minors and am now a year a month driving incident free. That includes racking up miles in unfamiliar city centres where most accident tend to happen. Feel free to jump off the high horse and realise that whether it be 20 or 60 hours of lessons, when you pass your test you are still a very basic driver with very little experience compared to other road users.(Original post by Nuffles)

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???Jesus it was a joke, but at the same time it's unavoidable that letting somebody loose on the roads with nothing but 18 hours of training is more likely to get into an accident than somebody who learnt properly. I had about 25 hours of lessons over about 4 months, but drove 2 or 3 thousand miles with my parents in that time too. I passed first time with 3 minors, and over 3 years on I'm still totally accident and points free.(Original post by plrodham1)

Obviously people can pass the intensive course and not have an accident, in the same way that people can drive thousands of miles with their parents and have 40 hours of lessons and pass with no minors, and still get into an accident within a week. Don't forget that statistically, those that go for the intensive course tend to be more boyracer types that want to get loose on the road as soon as humanely possible, and this group of people are more likely to get into an accident.
The majority of learning to drive is experience, and doing an 18 hour intensive course offers you the bare minimum of that. -

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???I'm doing it intensively. I started out when I was 18, then took it up again when I was 21, now I'm doing it for hopefully the final time at 23. So I'm having 8 hours next week, but only cos I still have some things to smooth over! It hasn't dragged on for me, just given me so much to think about. I'm having a break this weekend though, so hopefully I'll stop making silly mistakes next week!(Original post by ********)

Re: Driving Test at 1:35pm...Good or Bad???Let us know how you get on and ignore the people that think just because you've gone intensively means you'll get in an accident. I don't see why people think "they've done 18 hours over 18 weeks they must be better than 18 hours over 7 days, because the first person has more 'experience'" when you've probably done the same time behind the wheel, and probably got more experience at driving at different times during the day (weekly learners generally take lessons at the same time each week).(Original post by MrWhosane)
