Re: Doctor Who: David Tennant vs Matt SmithI think both of the guys are pretty great but after Russell T Davis left the writing got worse. Can't say I am very fond of any of Stephen Moffats Doctor Who episodes (even though I love his Sherlock). The Neil Gaiman episode was pretty good

Re: Doctor Who: David Tennant vs Matt SmithMatt Smith, but then again the production/budget has increased somewhat to make the show more appealing. But there is something more fun about a 'daft old man who stole a blue box'.
Christopher Ecclestone was also very good
but the shows writing/production/budget just wasn't up to scratch then. Otherwise he would have made a more darker version of the doctor, who seems to be dangerous and more fun.

Between Tennant or Smith, though...yeah, it'll have to be Tennant. Both are fantastic, though Tennant edges it slightly because I grew up watching his series and loved his interpretation of the Doctor, as well as his relationship with Rose and friendship with Donna. Nothing against Matt, of course; I just prefer David

Re: Doctor Who: David Tennant vs Matt SmithYeah I've seen a few. I watched 'Doctor Who and the Daleks' which was an ok film and some others on Daily motion. It's a shame really. Living today, I'm so used to such amazing special effects and computer animations, then I see a cyberman who looks like he's made out of tinfoil I can't fully appreciate it

Between Tennant and Smith, I used to prefer Tennant but since re-watching series 5 I think Smith is brilliant too. I choose not to compare them because they're both very different Doctors with different personalities and I love them both for different reasons.
It also winds me up when people don't give Smith a chance. I know of people who watched a one or two and decided "Naaaaaah don't like it he's rubbish blah blah" and refuse to watch anymore, then have a right old moan. Some people got far too attached to Tennant and just don't like change.
I've also watched Ecclestone and Tom Baker and I'm just about to watch Davison to see what he's like

And I'll be honest I was one of those people who didn't give Smith a chance at first, but then I fell in love with him. You're right though it's almost unfair to compare them, they're too different(Original post by Little Hobbit)
