Cheapest way to make a pc capabale of playing GW2
Minimum specs for Guild Wars 2:

    Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or better • Intel® Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2, or better • 2 GB RAM • NVIDIA® GeForce® 7800, ATI X1800, Intel HD 3000, or better (256MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)

    My current specs:

    AMD Athlon II P360 Dual-Core | ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 | Windows 7 HP 6.1 | 4gb Ram

I'm on a HP Pavilion g6, all that's really letting me down is my GFX, is there a way I can change it or is that a no-go for a laptop.

Also I have an old HP t000 if I can do anything with that... So, what's the cheapest way for me to make a computer that can run this ****?

    Cheers in advance

Just buy the best graphics card you can with whatever your budget is. Then fit it in yourself (very easy; don't pay some business to do it for you)

Games shouldn't need an amazing processor these days, and 4GB ram is enough. You'd be surprised how well a cheap computer can run games if you put the graphics settings to low.

    Can't upgrade a laptop buddy
(apart from the hard drive and RAM).

    "ATI X1800"

The Radeon HD 4250 is more powerful than that.

Basically you cannot upgrade a laptop's GPU.

Therefore the option that I suggest is that you build a computer.

You can get the motherboard, memory and CPU from here for only £108

    From here: http://www.dabs.com/products/asus-am...SY2.html?src=3

I would just buy the cheapest ATX case. like this http://www.dabs.com/products/best-va...16N.html?src=3

And then spend the most of the money on a good GPU and just buy a HDD.

    Simplez

    But I will warn you

What you pay is what you get.

4250 is an on-board GPU chip therefore the performance may be a bit lower when compared to a GPU running on a PCI-X slot.

But I definitely have to agree that the 4250 is way more powerful than the x1800

I think this would be pretty cheap if you buy this desktop. Install your own OS and use your current keyboard/mouse and monitor.
Just buy a decent graphics card with whatever you have to spare and it'll be pretty decent for the cost and for awhile.

Thanks everyone! I have a monitor, OS, keyboard, mouse etc already so that's cool!

Prefferably i'd like to run GW2 on medium settings though/ and it might be worthing paying a bit more for a computer that wont become outdated so quickly right?

The cheapest place to do this is pcspecialist? or dabs or ebuyer?

I also have NO IDEA how to put a computer together!

Most of the stuff can be viewed on youtube and some other components come with a manual so you should be fine,

    You could also try www.scan.co.uk

They are located in Bolton so you could just pick up the parts from there.

How well do you want to play it? My pc is quite old now and runs it on nearly max settings, it's not a demanding game at all.... My pc's specs are:

    nvidia 9500gt
AMD Athlon dual core 5200+ 2.8ghz
    4gb ram.

Runs really smoothly at a good frame rate.
