I have finished my diploma this may but will be retaking Math HL in November, just wondering if it would be mentioned on the IB diploma certificate that i retook.

Hi there, i'm not sure about the certificate stating retakes, but im also in a similar situation. I did okay in May, but as expected, i superflunked only on Maths Hl . God i hate it with a passion. I'm hoping to retake to get from 2 to a 5 in November, thing is i have to reteach myself everything, including options .........................

How will you be revising, and are you applying with UCAS in september?

I'm also retaking maths HL in November.. Is anyone rewriting portfolio as well?
I was wondering if you have to write a completetly new portfolio or if you can just improve the previous one.. Anyone know?

My son also just did IB HL maths and got a 4. He also did A level maths and got an A. Enough said. Is this an option for you? There is quite a lot of overlap in the syllabus for each. We rang his chosen universities and they agreed to give him a combined offer that stipulated he either get a 6 in HL maths or an A in the A level. He got into his chosen university. He did well in his other IB subjects but found the maths mind blowing. In fact the teachers and the tutor we got for him also found it challenging! HL Maths and A level maths are not comparable.
