    What Medical Career is this...?
So I know I want to work in the medical field but I am not sure which route to take, I was contemplating on what to specialize in for example Psychology, Forensics etc.

But then I had thought about another route however I have NO idea what this is called or if it's an actual medical jobs (google did not help) but heres my 'job description' for it: Where you sit with a medical panel and debate on stuff like cures, patients and what is going on in the medical industry

This may not be accurate but I would love for someone to tell me what the hell I just described  Thank you for taking the time to look at this!

Psychology and forensic science are not medical specialties. Psychiatry and forensic pathology however, are medical specialties and you might want to find out what they entail.

Your description sounds like a career in management with healthcare bodies.

The King's Fund is health policy Think Tank if that's what you mean? Suspect this is more political than the role you're thinking of though.

Imagine the title is something like 'policy strategist' or 'policy analyst'. Informally you'd fall into the 'policy wonk' category of political thinkers!

Looking at the jobs actually it seems to be more 'fellow/researcher'. They won't just be medically trained, though I imagine some are, but also people with post grad politics degrees and the like.

I just googled it, it is more the psychiatry aspect isn't it, I'm looking for a more 'debating' side of medicine.

Policy wonk seems the perfect title , but yeah I am hoping to get a medical degree and experience what doctors do (maybe specialize) , but at the same time this field of Medicine also interests me.

To be honest, medicine is all about team work, and you'll always have a "debating" role in it, regardless of what specialty you do. Although to be leading cases and debating about it would be I think a Medical Panelist, or a Public Health Specialist

I agree since most people will have opinions in the medical field but thanks for the career titles

By medical specialty - what are you referring to?

As in a degree in medicine, then the specialty?

Or another form of degree, such as pathology?

Not gonna lie, pathology sounds mega interesting

Pathology is a medical specialty; i.e. you need a medical degree to be a pathologist.

Pathology is a medical specialty, however you can do a degree in Pathology too if you want to work as an assistant pathologist. Although, you can't work your way up to an actual pathologist without doing a degree in Medicine

Either way, I can't think of anything worse than working in pathology. Boring as hell.
