Terrified to get my hair cut!
Hey, I'm a 16 year old male, and I have medium longish hair, kinda like Frankie cocozza but shorter and less of the drug addict look. I have had my hair like this for like 2 years now, and I just left school. I planned to get it cut when I left school as I didn't want to make my school like horrendous by looking like a **** and receiving abuse.
The reason I want to get it cut is due to going to Mexico next week, having long hair out there really makes me sweat, as I found out in America recently.
I would just get it cut, and just get short back and sides and take any abuse that I get on the chin. But it's not that easy, I have social anxiety disorder and struggle with social situations as it is now, with people judging and scrutinizing everything from my dress sense to the spot on my chin.
This haircut is daunting, and physically making me feel sick.
How would you cope with this? There's only a certain amount of funny youtube videos one can watch before the attraction and humerity fades
EDIT: How would I ask to get it cut like this?

Re: Terrified to get my hair cut!
Take the photo with you when you go to the hairdressers. I'm also getting my haircut pretty soon and I hate it too. I would rather go to the dentist then go and sit in that hairdressers chair haha. But it's so much easier to bring a photo along than try to describe what you want.

Re: Terrified to get my hair cut!
try and attach muuuch less importance to it- it's hair, it grows back and no-one probably pays as much attention to it as you are. relax- i know it's easier said then done, but maybe leading up to the haircut find something else to focus on.
also, DEFINATELY print that photo off and take it with you- i never go to the hairdressers without a photo, otherwise they get too scissor happy!
you're doing the right thing to get it cut though- i've never seen a guy that looks better with long hair
