I wasn't responding to your whole argument. I SPECIFICALLY BOLDED football and tennis, which are being played in this olympics, when I asked the question as to whether or not you were being serious. Otherwise I would not have SPECIFICALLY BOLDED those two sports
This is getting rather tiresome. Re-read my post where I explain in what way I was being serious. Its perfectly clear what I meant: I was serious that football and tennis should not be in the Olympics. I wasn't serious that they're not currently in the Olympics, I do own a tv, I think I would have noticed. You'd have to be retarded to think that was what I meant.

How about you just accept the fact that what you said was obviously NOT clear, as evidenced by the numerous people who did n't pick up on your sarcasm, instead of trying to disparage them and call them names?

All I'm saying is, you were not clear, several OTHER people also were confused about your "sarcasm". If you would have even said, anytime during the thread, that while you meant to be sarcastic, you could SEE how people could misinterpret what was said, I'm 100% sure that this would have been dropped a long time ago. It is your insistence that you are right and everybody is stupid is why I personally am and will continue to call you out

I really enjoy cricket but their are two main reasons why cricket cannot feature in the olympics. 1.) not enough countries play the sport. 2.) its too long. A t20 game can take anything up to 3 hours to play.

    a) The ICC has over playing 100 members. More countries play cricket than a huge number of Olympic sports, such as basketball, water polo, rowing, handball, beach volleyball. Cricket is the world's second biggest sport ffs.

    b) Many Olympic sports take well over 3 hours. Cycling road race, marathon.

In summary, your reason are bull****.

I don't see 100 teams in the ICC world cups. In fact i dont see any qualification stages prior to the events either. The cycling road races are a long event which they only do once in the olympics. Eg one time trial, one road race, one marathon etc. They can do them wherever they want in the UK. Since we have unlimited roads. We only have like 10 cricket stadia in the UK. So we'd have to host at least 10 games in each stadium. Unless you propose some sort of qualification process before the olympics. Oh and to fit all this into 17 days. Pushing the boundaries. If you'll pardon the pun.

There are 106 member in the ICC who all play for qualification for the two world cups.

You could easily fit a 32 team T20 tournament into a week over 8 different venues.
64 teams would take 8 days over 8 different venues. England alone has 18 first class grounds ffs.

2 and a half hours is only half an hour longer than a football match. Its hardly a huge difference.

Its a whole extra hour in fact. 90 mins = 1.5 hours. And most t20 games are 3 hours; 1.5 hours per innings. That wasthe case in the IPL.

Most football games last 2 hours.
    Most T20 matches last 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 hours.

The IPL is to cricket what the WWE is to Olympic wrestling.

No, I'd prefer 50 overs, 16 teams, knockout.

The only thing that saddens me is that it would seem not a normal international cricket tournament as the individual nations of the West Indies team would have to compete separately.

And how many of the 18 grounds are actually capable of holding an international fixture. We're not talking glamorgan vs leicestershire.

    Lords
    The Oval
    The Rose Bowl
    Chester le street
    Neville Road
    Sophia Gardens
    Edgbaston
    Trent Bridge
    Headingley
    Old Trafford

have all hosted international matches. Thats 2 more than would be required.
plus Taunton, New Road, Grace Road, Canterbury, Derby, Chelmsford etc would easily accomodate a smaller group game if necessary.

Football games are 90 minutes long. Oh if your counting a 15 minute half time interval, which is pointless because it would apply to cricket as well, 105 minutes. IPL is bar the advertising and cheerleader just a t20 tournament. Same time restrictions Dhoni got fined for slowing his overs down. And pretty much all t20 matches last 3 hours.

No they don't. How many T20 games have you actually been to see?
The IPL is not real cricket, its an entertainment event featuring celebrity ex-sportsmen doing impressions of cricketers. It doesn't even use the same terminology as cricket. No-one in the real world hits a DLF maximum, they hit a six.

From start to finish, football lasts about 2 hours, 3 hours if there is extra time.
From start to finish, T20 cricket lasts 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 hours.

Are you actually being serious. 'Celebrity ex sportsmen doing impressions'. Haha. Some of the best players around, tendulkar, kohli, pieterson. How are they doing 'impressions' exactly?

What are you chatting? A dlf max is a six. Its just advertising dlf. Like i said before, ipl is cricket but with a lot more advertising.

Right, because its not fixed, is it? The bowlers are just accidentally bowling slow full tosses for the batsmen to lump into the stands? and the fielders are just accidentally dropping really easy chances that most amateurs could catch with their eyes closed?

Some of the best catches in cricket history were taken in the IPL. I don't remember any dollies. As for the slow full tosses, how rare are they? Very. Point is IPL is a well know, legal, cricket tornament.
