'I really want to do Medicine at University, and I believe I have met all the criteria. Suddenly, however,my doctor told me that I have a thyroid problem (although I have not noticed anything myself). Will this health problem be considered a disadvantage by the Admissions panel? Will they reject me on the basis of this? I am planning to talk to my Headmaster about this, but I would like any opinions your good selves, since I know very little about these matters in regard to the admissions procedure. Cheerio'.

Re: pls guideNo, there is no reason why the admissions tutors should even know about it. Though I must admit your "doctor told me I am having thyroid" comment confused me - we all have thyroids...(Original post by dalmakhani)
Sorry for the confusion. Being fit to practice medicine is a pre-condition for getting admission to a medical course. Will my thyroid condition make me ineligible for admission to the medical course.
Your thyroid problem, whatever it may be, will not be a hindrance when it comes to medicine applications. Your English skills (if you are applying to the UK) might. -

Re: pls guideCybermen still have their organs.(Original post by spacepirate-James)
Yes, most universities actually consider having any organ a major disadvantage! It's a universal truth that cybermen take up all the elite places at prestigious medical schools.
