I really thought we'd have at least 1 gold medal by now, but the most we've managed is silver and bronze. I know it's better than nothing, but there's been a couple of sports I expected us to get gold in, but didn't.

Do you feel a bit deflated about this?

Yes especially after David Florence failed to make the final. This time last olympics we had 2 golds, 1 silver and 3 Bronze. We only have 2 silvers and 2 bronze this year. We need gold!

No. I don't care, I'm a sports fan not a small minded nationalist.

His coach has criticised him in the past, saying that the Chinese athletes were "working three times harder" and that he was spending too much time doing media/commercial work.

It's a shame really. He's a great talent but Daley and his partner seemed to buckle under the pressure yesterday. Making that mistake in their most favoured dive really got to them.

Team GB need a gold soon, otherwise the criticism will start.

You can't blame him. Him and his partner both did great but they messed up on the fourth dive which did eventually push them down to fourth position. But you can't always put all your heart into something which is 50/50% chance.

All the Olympics have done is make it a pain to read newspapers due to the coverage they give to these damn games. Can't wait for them to be over.

I think we'll see our first gold tomorrow in the mens 8 with coxswain and also the womens pair without coxswain. We might also see gold in either the mens or womens time trials if wiggins isn't too worn out from the TDF.

Wasn't there some controversy over the men's gymnastics too? We got silver, then got bronze...>WTF?

It was the right decision in the end. It would have been unfair on the Japanese if they hadn't have gotten the Silver. Saying that, I was pretty pissed off at the time

Just imagine how the Ukrainian's must be feeling though. Shoved out the medal's completely.

ITT that people who watch a particular sport once every four years are massively getting on the media bandwagon and are expecting unrealistic performances. Apart from the men's road race nothing so far has gone terribly. There's been a fair few PBs and the golds will come.

    Everyone just chill out.

Mens C1 was also terribly disappointing. Florence should have made it in to the final if he hadn't crashed into gate 18. Was expecting a bronze at least from him.

Hopefully we'll get a gold in the rowing events- we always seem to do pretty well at that

    Yup. Its more cycling tomorrow.
saw some heats this morning- Ellen Gandy didn't make it to the semis of her event (200m fly or something) but Jemma Lowe managed, and Martin Jamieson, David Willis made it through to the semis, and GB have a place in the semis/finals (unsure which) of the mens 4X200m freestyle relay.

I have been slightly disappointed so far - apart from the road race and the C1 slalom there haven't been any real upsets. However, I thought we may have managed to nick a few more bronze and silvers in the swimming and the individual eventing, maybe in the archery or Judo too.

Still very hopeful for the rest of the games though, especially tomorrow!

Me too, I'm pretty hopeful for the mens time trials tomorrow. Not too sure about the womens but I think we've got an excellent chance on the rowing tomorrow to get our first golds.
