Considering our population, wealth etc we actually overachieve.

You say we shouldn't be competing for 1st or 2nd because were small and don't have much money. Then how come we compete with the rest of the world in lots of other things and come out on top. We produce the greatest actors, bands, engineers, doctors, academics, health care, universities and loads of other things but when it comes to sport we can't do it.

I feel like I'm turning into Peter hitchens but we continue to embarrass our selves in sports and everyone feels sorry for us. We cheer like mad for our swimmers and the rest of the world are giving us sympathy and our competitors are patting us on the back which is the final nail in the coffin for me.
