Does anyone know what the situation is with reusing parts of previous work in a Dissertation?

For example, if you've done a section of work for a module previously and had feedback on it. Can you reuse it in your dissertation if you update it slightly and obviously try and take the feedback on board.

Or is this like 'self plagiarism'?
