You are given a choice of 3 dates in which you are allowed to move in on - unfortunately you cant just move in whenever you want!
I think Freshers week starts on Monday, the 17th!

I'll personally move in the last day its possible to probably

If it is three days I assume friday, saturday and sunday?

I'm thinking of friday because it will be the quietest day, saturday and sunday will be so busy and I'd hate to be the last one to move in.

Doesn't matter now. According to MMU's website it is the 17th (monday). I've heard it is fancy dress, is this correct?

Regarding freshers, I know you can buy them wristbands, but are they essential to have? I've looked on the union website, to see all the parties, and it says it's £3 entry (suppose that's without the wristband)... I mean, do people go to every party hence they get a wristband?

I'm not sure whether to buy one, or leave it. Think they are about £30.

Wouldn't bother. Get into your halls, and go out as group for a few nights - wherever you end up going you go, planning ahead for clubbing is a stupid idea

i've been looking at the events on the wristband and they are all at the union bar, kind of disappointing. in other cities the wristband usually takes you around different clubs in the city.

also 8 pounds worth of events are quiz nights and comedy nights which i won't want to go to.

some events look ok like the beach party and uv paint but it's a pretty crap wristband by the looks of it, whos going to wanna go the same club for 2 weeks? not many, especially in a place like Manchester which has tons of nightlife.

Totally agree with this. Exactly why I haven't bothered getting one, just thought I'd ask the question.

I probably won't go to everything anyway, and it says without wristband entry is £3 so I'll just pay on the door.

This is true, plus the welcome party.. Are you not getting one of those wristbands then? I don't really fancy getting one, but I don't want to turn up to the halls and notice I'm the only person without one? :/
