Thank you!!! You're so sweet Hopefully it will go well. As this is my 4th interview and no job yet.

Well I buy the Veet Suprem' Essence Spray On Hair Removal Cream as you can control how thick you want it. I use for 4.5 mins/5 mins normally which is longer than I need (3 mins is normally okay for me and the maximum time is 6 mins). But I find that it makes sure that the hair and the hair root is removed properly, so there are no little black dots afterwards. It's pricey at £7.15, but I always buy it when it's on offer anyway at £6.50 or less, so the price is not an major issue for me. If you happen to live next to a Wilkinson's, which I did as it was near my uni in Staffordshire, I buy all my toiletry products from there as it normally on offer and it priced cheaper. Luckily my local area in London is getting one now I'm so happy about that. Plus because it last so long for me I'm only buying it every 4/5 months anyway. If you do the maths for over a year £7.15 X 3 = £21.50 a year, £21.50/12 = 1.80 a month over a whole year on hair removal and I use for underarms, arms and legs. So it is cheaper over a long period of time. But if you had to buy it more often it can work out be more. http://WWW.boots.com/en/Veet-Suprem-...150ml_1043484/

For the girls that epilate I reccommend this, my friends use it and it suppose to help with the pain - http://WWW.boots.com/en/Veet-Comfort...y-40ml_865831/

For girls that live in the UK - Boots is currently doing Buy 1 get 2nd half price on selected Veet products, so take advantage!!! On the other hand you have Superdrug that is doing 2 for £9.99 on selected Veet products
Thank you so much! I don't know where I will be living yet ( only applied for accommodation ) so will be looking for a Wilkinson or hunting sales in Boots :ahee:

I am also thinking of using a hair removal cream or wax on my arm hairs. They are dark and of average length but I don't like the look and I am not tanned so they are easily seen

All types of hair removal seems to hate me!

Shaving with normal razor: REALLY itchy a day after when the hair grows back. Its itchy to the point where I can't even sit still. So can't use normal razors.

Shaving with electric razor: Not itchy but there's still stubble. And my electric razor died!

Epilating: Gave me tons of ingrowns which have scarred and are very attractive.. NOT. Worse mistake ever. My legs are ruined.

Waxing: Ingrowns. See above. Also takes forever, always miss bits out. I always seem to start waxing with the strips and give up half way through as I've used about 20 strips and done about half a leg.

Hair removal cream: Tried that today for the first time. I used half the tube which cost me £6!! I didn't even do two full legs, I gave up towards the end and there are patches where the hair wasn't removed properly. It's only supposed to last like 4 days so that's really expensive if you keep having to buy a new tube every week. It also took forever and it was hard to time. Don't know if this will give me ingrowns or not

I've tried everything there is and nothing seems to work for me, don't even know whats left. Hair removal is hell!

Thanks! While I can't get veet I am using an epilator and have just epilated my legs. I don't know why but they dont feel as smooth as after waxing or how they felt after epilating before, there is some kind of stubble which is rare but still present and it grinds my gears! I may need a new epilator I think because mine is quite old, which ones would you recommend me to have a look at? I think mine is reaping the hairs of instead of removing them completely with the roots

I had a look online and read that getting waxed in a salon lasts 4-6 weeks! That is pretty long. That means that I don't have to worry about it for ages, but it costs approx £20 per leg. I am thinking about that but it is expensive. I also had a read on the Veet website and there are so many products that it just overwhelms me reading it. I might try the spray on hair removal cream.
I wouldn't advise using Veet hair removal cream, your hair grows back the next day, at least it did for me!

And OP, I got my legs lasered-it's the best!

I bought a machine from boots that permanently removes your hair. You shave it off and then zap this light over your skin. If you do it once a week for 12 weeks it never grows back. I am on week 5 of my underarms and legs. I would say I have about 5 hairs left under one arm and about 20 under the other. My legs about about 70% hair free at the moment. I would seriously recommend it. I actually got mine on ebay for about £50, they sell for a LOT more but its for ever!

I am going to pay my tuition fees soon and then will be coming to the UK to study so can not afford to spend any more than I need for that at the moment! I would love to have it one day but it means that I need to grow them long and it will take ages won't it? Could you please tell more about your experience?

http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Smooth-Skin/ This is the new model, I have the old one. I am not sure there is much difference. I don't know much about lasering but it sounds expensive and I don't know if it would be any better than this.

Oh right, I see your problem.
You do need to grow them long, but not ridiculously long so it really won't take that long. My hair on my legs used to grow back pretty quickly anyway, but that might just have been because my hair is quite dark so it was visible but I'm not actually sure :L
The actual procedure (for me) was pretty painless, so don't worry about it hurting (: Also, your age is a factor that they need to take into account. I got mine done when I was a little too young and apparently it would have been better to get it done late teens, early twenties at the earliest. Good luck :]

I've got an epilator and although it worked well and I got used to the pain I've gone back to shaving because I ended up wih loads of painful ingrown hairs. Apparently it's because the tip of the hair isn't strong enough to break through the skin, whereas if you shave you make the hair more blunt so it can break through easier.

Nair gives me rash as its too cheap - go for Veet, and if your a sensitive skin person go for the Aloe Vera added one. Costs about six quid, massive bottle 200ml - will last you for good two months.

I don't know what it is, but hair removal creams just do not work for me at all!? I shave too, it's an absolute pain and if I could afford to get my legs professionally waxed I would...

I use an epilator on my legs, its really good at leaving a smooth feeling for almost a week, but sometimes the epilator doesnt pull out shorter hairs. I use a razor in other areas though lol

I am the same, so posting incase anyone has advice. I fancy trying epilation but am a bit wary of buying one incase it hurts too much and I only ever use it once!
I epilate and I won't lie the first few times it does hurt but after a while it does get better and you get used to it. But on a plus the hair does take longer to grow back and when it does it is a lot finer than re-growth from shaving

Thanks, maybe I should try it then. I get so fed up of having to shave so often it's just so time consuming. I should probably just get a grip and go for it.. no pain no gain etc.

I get my legs waxed once a month. It can last 4- 6 weeks BUT that is after you have been doing it for so long. At first you my notice some hairs after a week. Because you shave al your hairs will be at differernt points of their growth cycle. After you have been waxing for 6 months or so it will last 4 - 6 weeks.
Plus what do you mean its £20 per leg?!?!? No salon charges per leg. If it says leg wax £20, it means for both legs!

If you don't want to pay for waxing there are some great creams (example Veet) on the market now that do a better job than shaving. Less irratation, lasts longer etc.

On a side note I definiety recomment waxing when it comes to under arms. No matter how you shave, you can still see the hair. Waxing lasts longer and looks better.

All types of hair removal seems to hate me!

Shaving with normal razor: REALLY itchy a day after when the hair grows back. Its itchy to the point where I can't even sit still. So can't use normal razors. Do you moisturise? Sounds like over exfoliation or dry skin.

Shaving with electric razor: Not itchy but there's still stubble. And my electric razor died! Sounds like it might be over exfoliation with a normal razor then.

Epilating: Gave me tons of ingrowns which have scarred and are very attractive.. NOT. Worse mistake ever. My legs are ruined. To try and aviod ingrowing hairs exfoliate and only use a light moistriser on the area. Sadly some people are just more prone to ingrowing hairs than other though. The darker and thinker your hair, the worse it can be :-(

Waxing: Ingrowns. See above. Also takes forever, always miss bits out. I always seem to start waxing with the strips and give up half way through as I've used about 20 strips and done about half a leg. You don't need to use a new strip every time, keep reusing it until wax is no longer sticky. In the salon I use one one to two strips per leg.

Don't know if this will give me ingrowns or not How much are you putting on?!?! Are you putting it on your thighs too? Most people do not need to wax/shave their thighs as the hair is so pale and fine. You only need a thin even layer. When you said you had patchy, did you jump straight into the shower so the water washed the cream off? I f ind you need to leave it a minute to 'set' if that makes sense! lol! Did you leave it on for the full allotted time? Did you remove it with the scrapper/sponge?
On the plus side, creams should not give you as many ingrowing hairs!

I've tried everything there is and nothing seems to work for me, don't even know whats left. Hair removal is hell!

If you can't get on with waxing I think creams are the next best thing. Try it again and I am sure you will be fine. They are so simple to use! Don't let one bad experience put you off :-)
