Unfortunately I don't have the budget or time to have a subscription to the FT ... £16 per week for all features compared to £4 week for the Times and nothing for the Guardian online....

Make that two. Although perhaps in hindsight we should have rethought, considering that TSR is mostly compromised of left thinking individuals, although I understand this is not many's justification for ignoring the Times....
To be honest, I'd suggest maybe a subscription to The Economist. It's weekly, but still provides excellent analysis of major news articles, is only £2 a week for internet and print, and is much more managable to read rather than a huge newspaper every day!

Plus pay £1 and get 12 issues! (8.3p per issue)!

I did the £1 for 12 issues and I didn't find the style of the articles to my liking.

Fair enough, I rather like the style, but each person to his own

The Sun for some light-hearted news, The Independent for my serious news.

The Guardian is the best out of the bunch in my opinion. I actually don't mind the others in the poll with the exception of The Sun and the Daily Mail

The papers I despise includes the Daily Mail but it's not as much as I hate the Daily Star & Daily Express - absolute garbage, they should have been shut down before the News of the World. Their distorted and stupid headlines never fail to piss me off.

These are some their worst headlines, might as well be the flippin EDL Daily

The Telegraph, for being a reliable source of news with a political stance I agree with.

However, when I buy a paper copy of a newspaper, I choose The Times, purely for practicality. If there wasn't a wealth of internet news elsewhere, I would probably pay for an online subscription of The Times.

I read the Times, Guardian, Independent, BBC News Online, The Telegraph and a host of other magazines... Out of those, I would say the Times probably ranks highest followed by the BBC and the Telegraph for me.

The Guardian, your daily source or left wing propaganda. People might as well be read socialist worker if they are going to read the Guardian.

I would have voted for the Independent but had to go for the Times instead.
