Presumably by competing in high level competitions, getting good results, and being nominated to a squad.

Well the big question is, do you have your own horse? It's a lot easier to get recognised if you have your own.

You would need a very talented horse or pony and access to regular transport with people who are willing to take you to shows possibly many hours away, then register with either BD, BSJA or BE. You could get into teams and competitions with the pony club.

You need to be an experienced rider capable of riding and training many different horses and ponies, and skill is essential as talented horses are normally far more difficult and challenging to ride than your average riding school pony.

When you are 18, if you havent been able to compete and already gain sponsorship, then your best bet is to get a working pupil position on a yard, but that is poorly paid and very hard work.

How much riding experience have you got, do you have your own pony and what is it like?
