Favourite plot holes in movies
Whether you think cinema died with Hitchcock or only got good once Michael Bay started blowing up helicopters, this is the place where moving pictures are discussed.

Favourite plot holes in movies
Some films have one or two plot holes but go on to be great successes, financially and critically (e.g. Raiders of the Lost Ark). Whereas other films which may already be terrible in acting, editing and pacing terms, are infamous for just not making sense, leaving too many things out (e.g. The Room).
What plot holes do you like/dislike the most? -
Re: Favourite plot holes in moviesOn top of that, the doctor (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) controlled the already-dead McCullen's body, calling him Destro. Almost 5 minutes later, they're captured. It's way too quick for a baddie to burn out like that. The plot hole added just makes the whole film a waste, including Sienna miller's £4800 wig(Original post by Hopple)
When I went to see GI Joe. Obviously you suspend disbelief a lot with that sort of film, but when the baddie base was being destroyed with sinking ice, that really pissed me off. Ice doesn't ****ing sink, you're turning kids into idiots! -
Re: Favourite plot holes in movies
Alien: tiny little alien pops out of john hurt's guts and scuttles away. Next time you see it it's huuuge but hasn't eaten anyone yet.
Anything needs to eat BEFORE it can grow, it can't just work up an appetite growing and then eating the crew afterwards to make up the deficit.
This was a pretty annoying hole... Then virtually the same thing happens in promethius. -
Re: Favourite plot holes in movies
Pretty much every scene in Iron Sky
that film was wrong on so many levels.
Also, it was a pretty good film, but how did Bruce Wayne get back into Gotham in the Dark Knight Rises when he was halfway around the world in some desert country without a friend or money, and the city was on complete lockdown? Just sayin' -
Re: Favourite plot holes in moviesSeriously, there are more plot holes in The Dark Knight Rises (many of them are just inconsistences indicative of a rushed screenplay rather than plot holes, to be fair) than anyone expects.http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1345836/.../202245927?p=1 found 70 of them, and most seem to be on the money. Just how DID Alfred obtain information on Bane? He doesn't have an identity in any society, yet a computer tracks him down, to the name. Did the comics/cartoons slip up this bad?(Original post by PurpleEyes)

Re: Favourite plot holes in moviesTo be honest, I think the most hilarious one is the fact that Gordon was SURPRISED to learn that Batman was Bruce Wayne - there is literally no-one else he could possibly be. That's always peed me off a little(Original post by special1ne)

Re: Favourite plot holes in moviesPetyr Baelish did seem to be tracking Bane (and ended up catching him), and it's possible that you could hack into their (CIA? FBI? I can't remember) database.(Original post by special1ne)

Re: Favourite plot holes in movies
Not a giant plot hole, but it bugs me! In Harry Potter at the end of film 2 Dumbledore gives Harry the diary and then Dobby ends up with it, but then in film 6 Dumbledore has the diary again. I assume Harry just gives it back to him, but haha I dunno this has always annoyed me for some reason :P
Never Let Me Go. To me this whole things is just a giant plot hole. I'm sure Ishiguro has his reasons, but personally for me it makes no sense why the characters don't just run away

Re: Favourite plot holes in moviesAlso, one where he gets girls. Spiders ain't sexy. They're weird.(Original post by concubine)
That one where Spiderman, a total pussy, somehow manages to own a bunch of way cooler bad guys.
