A few more droughts like we had earlier in the year and we will be facing this nonsense here too.

Oh FFS. Don't they have anything better to do, like catch real criminals?

Except we won't... As that was a quirky little by-law from 1925, which I'd assume we either don't have here, or would be deemed unenforceable. The rain belongs to the river? How ridiculous!

The prosecutors argued all rain water belongs to the state - in this case I would make the state liable for every single damage rain inflicts on my property and me, including ruining electronical gadgets (laptop, mobile phone etc.) I left in my garden

    exactly

    and here's a nice rebuttal:

If the rain water is owned by the city or State- then wouldn't the city of State also be responsible for any and all property damage (such as house flooding, etc.) caused by rain water there?
    lmao.

    EDIT:

Wow, my dad collects rainwater at his allotment and in our garden. It means we don't have to stretch a hose down or carry a watering can everywhere, as the rainwater collectors are right where the plants are.

What is this I don't even....

Obviously the real reason is the greedy water companies want to stop him from getting free water. At this rate British Gas may storm into my house and smash up my solar panels.

It's disgraceful. Rain doesn't "belong" to anyone. What's next? Dictating how much air we can breathe? It's like that **** with people buying bits of the moon. It's not your moon, **** off.
