Re: Heaher Stanning, Helen Glover....If they were ChineseAnd it was an American coach who challenged the swimmer, not a British one.(Original post by Arva)
Did they beat their personal best by over five seconds? No, then your analogy is crap. That's the reason there are doping questions, because it's such a huge improvement in such a short space of time. Not just because she won the gold. Please be quiet. -
Re: Heaher Stanning, Helen Glover....If they were ChineseThat too! I can't stand the people who are saying it's "GB being sore losers".(Original post by Stray_talk)

The sheer amount of drug testing at the Olympics makes it almost impossible to successfully dope. I hope that all the cheats have already been expelled and we can admire feats of physical prowess with the confidence that it's legitimate. Don't confuse implausible for cheating.
And congratulations to Helen Glover and Heather Stanning!

Re: Heaher Stanning, Helen Glover....If they were Chineseto be honest she hasn't finished puberty yet her body is still developing and getting better, so knocking 5 seconds of her personal best which was when she was 14 is nothing(Original post by Arva)

Re: Heaher Stanning, Helen Glover....If they were ChineseNothing? That's definitely not true. The experts are saying it's exceptional to improve that much - maybe doable, but exceptional nonetheless. I think some of the dispute is coming from the fact that she is so young and presumably isn't fully developed yet, but has beaten every time ever set by much more developed athletes.(Original post by sucess)

Personally I'm staying out of whether she doped or not, I just can't stand the way people are being criticised for raising the obvious questions. -
Re: Heaher Stanning, Helen Glover....If they were Chineseshe started training when she was like four or something what do you expect, just give credit were its due, also she is naturally talented(Original post by Arva)

A 5 second improvement is incredible at such a high level of sport, regardless of how hard you train - that is why it is to be expected that questions be asked about doping, especially with China's history in that area. -

Re: Great Britain win their first gold medal. Not necessarily. Drug testers can only test for performance enhancers that they are aware of.(Original post by Snakefingers13)

Re: Great Britain win their first gold medal.Needs to be female views of females tbh, and provided females still allow themselves to be flooded by photoshop, sport's staying in the shadows.(Original post by hannah60000)
