Sussex will probably be the same as most unis in that they will want to see that you've demonstrated your interest in the subjects (preferably beyond the curriculum), have some good extra-currics, and are able and motivated enough to complete the course .

Thanks for the tips, as i know Sussex is a new university comparing to others so it probably doesn't have any spacific values yet

I found that Sussex really like it when a student says why they really want to study there specifically, and regularly admit students with less than the grade requirements who just love the uni itself.

What's this based on? Wouldn't that jepodize your other four applications?

People who go there, who did just that and received offers even though they didnt meet the grade requirements. An ex of mine was at Sussex before me and it was something he was aware of too. I guess it depends on how much you want to go there

Do people think it is a good idea to say what sort of societies they would like to join if they haven't done much in terms of extra curriculer activities during school/college.

I'm facing the same difficulty, my wishes are the only thing i can count on, the lack of experience is completely normal thing in my country specially among highschoolers, if you don't have 18 years you practically can not work anywhere, becouse no one wants to hire you.
