    Avon Way House 2012/13
So as is increasingly characteristic, I applied for accommodation ridiculously late and all my on-campus accommodation was unavailable! I've now got an offer for Avon Way House, which I'm going to take. Anybody else in there with me?

I'm a postgrad student doing an LLM in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. I've been allocated a postgrad flat, but I'm hoping it won't be like a library in there. Work hard, play hard....or something like that!

    Hey guys,

I have been offered Avon Way House too - quite sure that I'll be accepting it. I'll be studying MSc Occupational Therapy. I have heard people do have fun at Avon, but it's quieter than the other places. I guess it depends on the people there.

I've been allocated AWG.3/D, sounds like it could be in a different block. I'm actually really excited now i've confirmed, makes this all real!

The walk to Uni is less than thirty minutes (much quicker) if you go behind the houses along the cycle path toward the pedestrian crossing which crosses the dual carriageway. This is a very common route all students take from Greenstead (the area Avon Way Houses is in) to the Uni.

When you move in, have an explore or ask/follow some students who'll show you the way .

when is everyone planning to move in? i'm actually on holiday from 24th till 2nd october, so will either have to let them know i can make it in on the 3rd, or pay for more days and leave my stuff in my room a few days before 24th sep!

and according to my research (google maps, haha) you can actually get a bus that drops off not too far from the uni; bus 75. I put in directions from 'avon way, colchester' to 'university of essex, colchester campus'.

Just a little fyi, there's two bus stops close to avon way house. One thats on the road called university residences which is to the right of the main entrance, and one about a 5 minute walk up the road and is a proper shelter. There bus stop coming the other way is pretty much on the door stop. and it is the 75/75B service, but be warned, it is the most temperamental service in the world!

Have fun living at avon way house, I did this year and it was great

Hey guys Is anyone in 4/F? I'll be following the MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience programme and just booked my flight for the 30th of September. Does anyone know if there's a bus/coach that directly goes to Greenstead from Stansted Airport or which of the options is closest to Avon way when taking the http://www.airportbybus.com/?

Hello, another 'fashionably late' prospective student here who missed out on on-site accommodation...
Just been told that I will also be in Avon Way, not sure of the allocation as yet.
I will be starting my PhD in Accounting and Finance.

I look forward to meeting you all
