I think I was followed home today...
Well I got off the bus from work to walk home, there's two stops that are fairly closer to where I live than the other but recently I have got off of this other stop which is about 5 minutes extra walk because I like the exercise.
Anyhow, I beeped for this bus stop and I got off so did someone else but I didn't turn to see who it was. Anyway, I got a sneak peak of him and saw it was someone who got on my bus so just thought he's turn off down another road but no he kept following me the whole time and there was plenty of opportunity to go about another way aswell which would have taken same amount of time, he kept the same distance from me must be about 15 metres close enough for me to hear his footsteps, anyway i started walking a bit faster and got to my road and went to check if cars were coming (theres hardly any cars that come down but just wanted to get a look of him) and he was still there behind me :|
got to my door and peeked down and he went a little further down the road but no idea where he went
the thing is my road is a cul-de-sac and never seen him before as far as i am concerned - though haven't seen much of the neighbours but then why would he get off same stop as me? why not the other two nearest stops?
also when I was queuing up for the bus I did see him staring at me but I dont know whether I am just being paranoid now
I was okay earlier didnt think much of it until I told my mum who went beserk and told me to not to stop at that stop anymore, now I'm actually a little scared :| -
Re: I think I was followed home today...That does sound strange. I would say you were being paranoid if it wasn't for the two stops away thing. Was this in the day or night? I would suggest not getting off two stops away from your house at night if you're worried.(Original post by organizedchaos)

Re: I think I was followed home today...
ah the classic situation
Guy: "ok that girl is cute, gonna talk to her *5 minutes later* ok cmon you can do it she's looking at me so she must be interested, probably just waiting for me to say something! *5 minutes later* cmon what's wrong with you! talk to her! wow she walks fast, must be an athlete *5 minutes later* ok ok gonna do it...oh crap she went into a house, better turn around...where the hell am i anyway?"
Girl: "why is that guy staring at me? *5 minutes later* "is he still behind me? What the hell does he want? *5 minutes later* he seems so weird, better walk faster *5 minutes later* finally home, that guy looked like a rapist" -
Re: I think I was followed home today...LOLOL! that made me laugh. But in all seriousness, that is pretty scary. Maybe read a few self defense articles, and carry some pepper spray around with you? Or whatever else you think you would defend yourself with.(Original post by Darth Stewie)

Does sound a bit strange.
I've had something similar happen to me, except I was alone in Birmingham. I'm only mentioning that because I'd never been to Birmingham before, ever (I was there for work experience). The bloke didn't even try and hide the fact he was following me, either.
What I did was I ducked into a shop on the way to my destination. I had multiple reasons - first, supermarkets have cameras and are quite busy. A lot of them also have security guards.
In the end, I walked around for a bit and lost him in the aisles. When I was out, I just made sure I stayed in a crowd.Last edited by TattyBoJangles; 04-08-2012 at 21:19. -
Re: I think I was followed home today...Hm it does sound a tad dodgy, and I'd be a little scared if I was in your position. Has this happened more than once though? If not, then try to relax. If it happens again, then you need to go to the police or tell someone or something. Hopefully there won't be a next time, but be prepared just in case.(Original post by organizedchaos)

Re: I think I was followed home today...I've been in a very similar situation before: all I did was made sure that it wasn't obvious that I knew he was following me, stayed at least 100 yards from him, made sure I was ready to run into a shop if I had to. I had been sat on the bus listening to my iPod, and I had noticed then that a guy had been staring at me then, and he's the one that followed me off the bus. I wouldn't be surprised if he was trying his luck to steal my iPod, but I walk very fast and I don't think he wanted to risk a mugging in a busy high street with lots of people milling about.
Ducking into a shop is a really good idea, so even if you didn't succeed in losing them, the CCTV and other people in the shop would have seen him.Last edited by PhoenixFortune; 05-08-2012 at 15:11. -
Re: I think I was followed home today...
Carry a knife.
Otherwise you can make a very simple and effective EMP pulse out of household materials or a Taser out of cameras, both of which are very effective at deterring anyone. Tutorials are on youtube...
Edit: Seems there is a lot of hate for violence, even if it used in self-defence...Last edited by cyfer; 06-08-2012 at 09:58. -
