Emergency.. Uni withdraw offer because "I failed to reply to their emails"

It might just be an overdramatic email on their part to get you to answer quickly. My uni do that with library fines, and send out emails saying you will be evicted from your accomodation and expelled from the university if you do not immediately rectify the massive debt you owe them (or similar scary words to that effect)
Jeez that is scary. Expelled because you owe library fines. Does that even happen?

I know at my uni you can be prevented from graduating if you owe library fines.

I'm pretty sure it doesnt, no. But they do regularly get people ringing up in tears because of owing 99p. Its just their way to get you to pay quickly, We're wise to them now though

No...you just have to remember to pay them off before you graduate, otherwise the university may withhold your degree until you cough up.

The email you received sounds pretty scary to me. Like everyone else, I suggest you call them up as soon as possible, and explain the situation. Good luck, and keep us posted.

I heard rumours of it happening, but didn't know if it actually did; just that it could!

Well my ex boyfriend told me it did, and my uni are pretty money-orientated (I'm am reg disabled but got a parking ticket for taking more than 15 minutes to pack my car for christmas ) so I can see it happening with mine lol

I understand the uni move to hold on to the degree till you pay whatever fee you owe them, but only if the aforementioned fees are sorta astronomical.
I will keep you posted anyway.
And by the way lilahnurave, can I ask the question everyone want to ask: what uni you go to? I hope it's not mine.
