Worked Open Days in March, still not been paid...
I hope this is the right place to post this message...
I worked 4 open days in March at my university, and was employed as a casual worker. On the last day I worked, I filled in my claim form outlining my hours, and handed it in straight away. No one told me I needed my passport, I assumed as I'd been paid by the university before, they didn't need it. A few weeks later, I got an email asking for it, so I took it in to be photocopied, and expected that once I'd done this, my payment was ready to be processed.
I expected to be paid at the end of April, end of May at the very latest. I understand paydays are only at the end of the month, but since I didn't get paid last Friday, I am going to wait at least another month. Every month, I have contacted people within my department to chase up the my payment, and have been told someone will get back to me.
I've spoken to some of the other students who worked the same open days as me. Some haven't been paid. One of them said he submitted his forms after me, but he got paid (only in July though).
I know as a casual worker, I probably don't have as many rights as an employee, but I was wondering what else I can do? Surely the university cannot get away with delaying my payment for this long without a giving a good reason?
I'd appreciate any advice/ideas anyone has. Has anyone had similar problems themselves? -
Yeah, you should keep contacting them. Try and directly contact HR or the person who deals with payment, rather than others who may forget to pass on a message. This is probably the issue, I find emails within unis tend to get passed along a lot and get muddled up.(Original post by simplicitysim)

I can see why it might have been too late to put through for the month you handed in passport details, but it should have been the month after.
You have as much right to be paid for the work you've done as anyone!
