Anyone studying Maths and Education at Derby?
    Hi Guys,

I've had an unconditional offer from Derby Uni to study Mathematics and Education starting Septemeber 2012. Wondered if anyone else was doing this course?

I am a mature student at the age of 27, giving up on my career as an Accountant and hopefully change and go into teaching.

You are in a similar position to me. I am a mature student at the age of 27, and I am giving up my career as an accountant to go back into education. Not sure if I am being mad yet!

It took me a while to decide to give my home, car and other luxuries in life up for the chance of a better career but i suppose with the building trade being in a bad way helped me decide. Im going be studying Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Im just worried ive forgot to much or that im not actually as good at maths as a remember so im brushing up 2 hours a day.
Suppose you wont have that problem being an accountant you use maths everyday. The last i used it was in my electrical principles exam 5 years ago lol.

You live once so why not go after the job you want. If it does all go wrong like me you can always fall back on ur previous career altho that i really hope that is not the case. Good luck anyway .
