Re: What do people think of using cheats?
When I was a kid I used to use them a lot, especially on games like the Tomb Raider series because I was terrible at completing the levels. It was more fun using the grenade launcher anyway.
As for cheating in multiplayer games, you have a prisoner's dilemma type scenario where cheating gives you a distinct advantage, but if someone cheats that's not you, the game is spoilt. People can't be trusted to not cheat if they think they can cheat and get away with it (it's a psychological thing that applies to pretty much everyone - not having a go), so there's a large burden for game companies to have to spend time and money preventing cheating. It sucks but what else can be done?

Elder scrolls commands to fix glitches and bugs do not count as cheats in my opinion, you're just making sure you can play the game.(Original post by SecretDuck)
I use teleporting cheats in Morrowind as a way for fast travelling. Noclip is excellent if you're stuck. Reset actors command helps a lot if NPCs are stuck.
I have skyrim on ps3, 3 quests I anf complete

Re: What do people think of using cheats?
GTA is one of those games where you can cheat and have a bit of fun, not taking the game seriously etc. but I'm sure it then stops you from completing missions/achievements so you don't really get an advantage e.g. completing the game using cheats and then bragging.
People buy games so they should be able to play how they want. If they want to use cheats then that's fine, it's just not my cup of tea. However, I have a problem when the player(s) cheating are doing it online - why ruin it for everyone who's playing fairly? -
Re: What do people think of using cheats?Really? In skyrim I have more money than I can spend, each dungeon tends to give more loot than I can sell at the moment, even after hiding the more valuable and interesting pieces in my house.(Original post by strategist)
Skyrim. for the darn lockpicks and enough gold for my first horse + first house to store my things.
