    University Maths Application
What would any of you think about me writing something along the lines of this in my application for university?

"I love maths... I've done the Maths Challenge... I've gotten gold on multiple occaisions."

This is true but what has actually happened is I got gold twice at junior level and then bronze at intermediate and senior level.

So could I get away with this? Or would it be picked up on and frowned upon? or is it simply not worthwhile including on my application? Or just what does anyone think about me saying that????

A bronze is still good though. You could perhaps say that you have received two bronze and two gold awards. Whatever you do say, you would need to be prepared to talk about it at interview and also your school might/should mention them in your reference so whatever you say would need to match that.

Also, just in case that is similar wording to what you're planning on putting, I was told to avoid using the word 'love' as it sounds too emotional. You should probably avoid the words 'I've' and 'gotten' as well (one is an abbreviation and the other is specific to US english).

Yeah I wasn't going to actually going to write it in those words so that's fine. The thing is I'm going to be applying for universities like Cambridge/ Warwick so do you think mentioning that I got bronze on a couple would hold me back maybe?

I applied to Cambridge with a bronze and although I did get rejected after the interview, in the feedback they said that the bronze was a positive factor in the application. For Warwick, they have a policy of giving an offer to almost everyone with sufficient predicted grades then making that offer quite high so a lot of people miss it. So the maths challenge wouldn't be such a large factor there.

Ok thanks! I'll just say I got gold twice and bronze twice but not say at which level I got them both, that should be fine shouldn't it?
