    Combined Honours Music Degree
I'm hopefully going to study Education and Music at Liverpool Hope in September but I'm worried I'm not that prepared for the music side. I've done Alevel but feel like I've let it slide a bit since I did my exam and now I'm rusty on the piano and feel like when I get there I'm going to be out of my depth. Just wondering if anyone knows what a combined honours music degree is like, I know its probably not as academic as doing a full BMusc at a red brick uni but would still like some advice. Thanks

It's been a while since you posted and nobody's replied yet...maybe you should check out MarkedbyTeachers.com, TSR's sister site. It has the largest library of essays in the UK with over 173,000+ coursework, essays, homeworks etc.. all written by GCSE, A Level, University and IB students across all topics.

Handpicked examples show formative feedback comments from some brilliant teachers. Plus, reviews from A* students and hints, tips & common mistakes from their teacher team. You get access either by publishing some of your own work, or paying £4.99 for a month's access. Both ways give you unlimited access to all of the essays.

All their documents are submitted to Turnitin anti-plagiarism software, so it can't be misused, and the site's used by hundreds of thousands of UK teachers and students.

What's more, you can take a look around the site and preview the work, read reviews and teacher summaries AND view the hints and tips absolutely free. Click here to find out more...

I felt exactly the same before starting a full BMus music degree! Honestly it's nothing to worry about, most lecturers and instrumental teachers are understanding that you've had a summer holiday and sometimes become a bit rusty at either the musicological (i think thats a real word!) or practical side of music. It might be a good idea to get a bit of practice in now though! Good luck!

They've given you a place, so they obviously think you're good enough Yeah don't worry, everyone is in the same boat. The first year doesn't count towards your final mark anyway - it's just getting everyone up to speed. Some of my friends did joint honours (I did BMus) and we all did the same core modules.
