Which universities specifically do you wish to find out about?

This can't be correct, using UCAS Statistical Enquiries Service is says Northern Ireland recieved 780 applications and accetped 560.....FOR LAW. Wtf? Surely this cannot be correct.

I'm looking for statistics for the universities of Queens(Belfast) and The university of Ulster.

In 2005, QUB had 992 applications for law and 233 people accepted offers.
In 2005, UU had 2002 applications and 217 people accepted offers.

That doesnt make sense either, QUB is a far more prestigious uni yet it recieves half the volume of applications?

it does make sense because the people applying to Queens are likely to be of a much higher standard. Also UU offers way more law courses than Queens (law and politics, law and irish, law and accounting etc) so would have more applications.

Oxbridge has, on average, about four applicants per place. Which is not very many compared to other universities. However, consider that each of those four people is likely to be the very best in the country and your chances don't look so good any more...

The Higher Education Statistics Agency (http://www.hesa.ac.uk/holisdocs/home.htm) should have some info on this.
